Let's hope the owner(s) mean business if that's the correct price.0

Interesting that Cawley hasn’t tweeted anything about a “done deal” yet0

Worried about Airman’s source now. He’s/she’s clearly mad.Bedsaddick said:8 -
I'm going out with mates. And I'm not going to send Tavern down the Valley... last time I did that it was on a Thursday night I'm sure and the news about Zabeel had just broken. He ended up on Sky Sports news and it all went pear shaped after that.
Stay indoors love!

Happy to drive roly to the airport, if he is arsed to be in this country.4

I'm happy to help Tone catch the right bus to Woolwich McDonalds.Chippycafc said:Happy to drive roly to the airport, if he is arsed to be in this country.

We don't know how the £45m, if true, breaks down.
How much is upfront and how much depends on promotions and Gomez/Lookman/Pope/Gudmunsen/Reza/Polish Pete sell on fees materialising.
Regardless he's lost money so good. It doesn't really matter either way but I'd still rather he lost money than gained out of it.10 -

Agreed... Based on what you say (i.e. more likely to get promoted / better ran) though it raises the question:killerandflash said:It'll be interesting how much Wigan go for. A much better run club, and one much more likely to be promoted, but in a less desirable area of the country (economically) and a smaller potential fanbase
Charlton or Wigan - Which club has the most potential
Its a difficult one because Wigan isn't an attractive part of the country yet is only down the road from Manchester; interestingly it only takes a few mins more to get into Manchester Piccadilly from Wigan than Charlton to Charing Cross.3 -
I am absolutely ecstatic... But let's not get things twisted, If Roland has got 45mio he has won. Its all well and good saying we won, but he has taken a club to the league below, ripped the heart out of it and sold it for 2.5x what he paid, while we languish in league 1 with 10k crowds.11
-
The important thing is that we're getting the club out of his grubby hands. Soon he will be nothing but a horrible little blip in the long history of our club. I couldn't care less if he made £20m or £200m on us at this point as long as he doesn't have anything more to do with us in any capacity.CAFCsayer said:I am absolutely ecstatic... But if he's sold everything for that (and is not holding on to anything it's not that good.CAFCsayer said:I am absolutely ecstatic... How much has he put in over the four years, £1m a month? That's £48m (discounting transfers) so doubt he's "made" any money.

Depends what has happened to the debtCAFCsayer said:I am absolutely ecstatic... But let's not get things twisted, If Roland has got 45mio he has won. Plus on top of losses price he paid for the club four years ago was £18m.0
-
Would be interested to know what the plans are of the £45m lads.
That’s a hell of a lot more money than clubs of similar stature to us have gone for recently0 -
But it cost him £55m plus whatever he's lost since the last accounts.CAFCsayer said:I am absolutely ecstatic... But let's not get things twisted, If Roland has got 45mio he has won. How has he won if he's getting back LESS than he spent over the four years?5 -

Who cares what he got for it. If his gone that's all that matter. Forget Roland Rat and that stupid cow, they are other teams problems now.
If it's a done deal of course.16 -
The other thing on the price.
Duchatelet bought when the company was distressed, despite what Seriously Deluded claimed at the time, and the spivs were desperate to get some money back and get the club off their hands.
So he paid less than he would have had the club been in good health financially.
£45m still seems too high though.6 -
Does this mean I can take the faded CARD poster and B & W scarf out of my car rear window....finally?
the way i see it, it's a bit like me buying a car, crashing it a few times and selling it. surely it's not worth as much! Roland has done bloody well to recoup what he has, if the deal is accurate. Now only care what the plan is from the new owners and their short, medium term plans. Doubt they have a long-term and we'll probably be sold on to another buyer within 5 years!!0 -
It's difficult to calculate the attractiveness of clubs, as most people historically in Wigan have tended to support the Manchester and Liverpool clubs I imagine, while our SE London home is also full of supporters of other London clubs (especially Arsenal)ForeverAddickted said:

Potentially our catchment area is a lot larger than that of Wigan though, Wigan has a population of 104k whereas the borough of Greenwich alone has 280k people, with faster growth too.1 -

Tavern take no notice from "she who must be obeyed" I'll see you down The Valley later !!
The Burger Boy needs a hand packing his van3 -
It'll be announced just after Charlton Live finishes tonight, just to piss off @LouisMend.15

Nailed on. FACT. Same thing happened with Lee Novak’s departure four mins after the show ended and I was equally devastated.Exiled_Addick said:It'll be announced just after Charlton Live finishes tonight, just to piss off @LouisMend.

land value and turnover for starters0

distressed is right. Evening Standard tonight says Jiminez and Cash have to pay back 3m to Khousori (sp) after he lent them 1.8m on the basis they owned the Club which neither did. Plus estimated 350k costs. Roland got it on the cheap, should have done DD instead of relying on Dozy Daisy.Henry Irving said:The other thing on the price.
