Surprised they've not had a penalty yet....Charlton_Stu said:0 -
Maybe he asked to play? After having no competition for his place, suddenly he lost it.LargeAddick said:is Aribo being punished for some reason? Dropped for Saturday, U-23's today. Seems a bit odd to me.
He won't have played for more than 2 weeks - and he'll know he needs to keep himself razor sharp to keep in contention for a 1st team place.
Benefit of finally having competition for places.

I am glad I didn't go.0

If anyone needed to gain sharpness, surely it would be Zyro...Oggy Red said:

A lot of good news in there. Good to see Pearce and Page getting run outs, and Maloney and Umerah (and maybe Anderson as well-wishes he hurt at some point recently?) coming back from injury. Also nice to see Dijksteel skipper the side, though it presumably means he won't be in the squad tomorrow night.Henry Irving said:0 -
1-0 up at half time, Henry's love child scoring.1

1-0 up at HT. Reeco got the goal0

Something a bit weird about Dijksteel captaining a side with Pearce in it!SDAddick said:

Very disappointing game against a desperately poor Stoke side.
The goal came from a long ball over the top which Reeco got to first, held off the defender and a powerful left foot shot beat the keeper at his near post. Pearce played for about 70 minutes and Page did well. I really like the look of Alfie Doughty. Quick and hard working down the left flank and obviously has an eye for goal. Reminds me a bit of Johnny Robinson.
Karl, Jackson, Konsa,Da Silva and kag in attendance. Apparently just the one change tomorrow from the team that started at Donny.12 -

Crawley not training today0 -
It finished Charlton 1 Stoke City 0 at a cold and unfinished Training Ground. The goal was taken well by Reeco Hackett- Fairchild. A long ball was played up the middle and he held the ball up and finished left footed past the Keeper. Charlton were the better side but couldn't finish Stoke off, sound familiar?
Jason Pearce played seventy minutes and never stopped organising the defence. Lewis Page played the whole game and did well.
Stoke didn't look like a Premier League Academy.
Charlton U23s | Maynard-Brewer, Cummings, Bowry, Pearce, Page, Dijksteel (c), Lapslie, Morgan, Doughty, Umerah, Hackett-Fairchild.
Subs | Harvey, Maloney, Anderson, Yamfam, Trialist. #cafc

The U23s, especially defence and keeper would really have benefited from having an experienced pro like Pearce organising them at the back, especially with none of KR, Bowyer, Jacko or indeed Euell being defendersdickplumb said:It finished Charlton 1 Stoke City 0 at a cold and unfinished Training Ground. Strong team. Reeco plus another 10 people5 -
Is it worth risking Pearce? - Zyro and Ajose I get yet
Good to see Charles-Cook back from injury as well0 -
4 up front, U23s really going for it today then!1

Pearce was always pencilled in to play 90 minutes today. His own words, as reported on the OS (I believe) after last week's U23 game.ForeverAddickted said:Is it worth risking Pearce? - Zyro and Ajose I get yet
He's obviously wanting to sharpen up his match fitness. But I would be surprised if he played more than 45 or 60 minutes today.
*famous last words!*
I should imagine it's planned that he plays an important part for the 1st team on Saturday, even if he doesn't start.

That'll be Ajose on the wing, then.Chris_from_Sidcup said:4 up front, U23s really going for it today then!

I was just thinking with Bauer having to come off on Saturday so soon after returning... Seems to be an issue this season with players coming back from injury, yet then having a recurrence within a game or twoOggy Red said:
