@castrust how far does it go before Murray gets challenged on what would appear to be another delaying tactic, which seems to me to be nothing other than preventing any kind of protest from happening again?

Ever had the feeling you're being played for a fool?

"I'll keep the plebs silent by telling them something will happen this month and when it doesn't I'll find some kind of excuse to put them back in their boxes for another few weeks mmmwwwahahahaha"

Now when I said that the other week I was told him saying something was better than nothing

The man is a pathological liar why anyone would listen to a thing he says is beyond me stopped a protest for what absolutely fuck all and the club still ain’t been sold

RM playing the good guy and trying to get back onside with the fans. Unfortunately for him some of us have long memories.

    Any rumours today?

Heard some good news about the sale from someone more ITK than me yesterday. He’s on here but is discreet.
I am now less worried than I was before.
Go on then ... I don’t get all this smoke and mirrors, if you’ve heard something just say it
I have said all I know. Someone I respect a great deal said there’s some good news coming soon re the takeover. If they want to add more on here I’m sure they will. But it was someone who gave me a piece of info some weeks ago that turned out to be correct. So I’m hoping this will too. It’s not someone who posts that sort of info on here.
Anyway, I feel less despondent now than I did a few days ago, so wanted to share.
Is your good news James, Murray making a statement this week?
No, certainly not. I heard about Murray later. I'm hoping it's a good sign though.

I'm comforting myself with the belief that @JamesSeed saying he heard some good news is actually that @Redhenry mega rich mob are as good as a (date I say it???) Done Deal

Site's down again. I've alerted RW.

But we don't know any more than that there will be an announcement from RM. No idea what he will say.

Seems to be working now but Murray is headless!
    RD is headless.
  • RM is just there to try and appease the fan base through to season end without any more protesting.
I just don't get the feel that this is anywhere near close and expect RD to be still holding on past season end once the dream of promotion has gone.
Farcical sale in line with everything else that RD has brought to SE7.

    Link not working for me.

It says this on the link.......

As February draws to a close Richard Murray has confirmed to CAS Trust that he is planning to issue an update statement on the sale of the club later this week.

In terms of detail he will continue to be constrained by the terms of the non disclosure agreements which are in place but he is very conscious of the level of interest among Charlton fans about the issue of the club's ownership and the frustration many are feeling about the current situation. We anticipate that he will be seeking to keep fans as well informed as possible.
Only planning to. I plan to do lots of things then don't have time or can't be bothered.

Well, he is perfectly well aware that CARD is a coalition comprising a lot more than CAST, and that CAST is the moderate element within it. So he understands that CARD includes people who are inclined to be sceptical of anything he says, and can easily take the view you are suggesting, and formulate plans accordingly.

The other thing to note is that he declined the opportunity to meet with CAST at this time, preferring instead to make his statement to 'all the fans'. So we will be in the same position as anyone else in forming an opinion on what he says. So if you and most other CAST members decide that 'we are being played', after reading his statement, we will have no privileged information that would lead us to put a less cynical viewpoint to you. And I have personally and recently pointed out to him that CAST is an organisation of paid up members and we have to be guided by their opinions, ahead of our individual judgements.

We have a meet tomorrow, as it happens, and for sure we will be discussing this including your take on it, which clearly has struck a chord.

I would not be surprised at all if he announces that "they cannot come to an agreement" and any takeover if off until at least the end of the season.

I'm not surprised. We're worth £75M and our value is increasing by the day
Maybe he saw my post and changed his valuation from £50M to £77M. Is it too late for me to post I was wrong and our real value is £25M?

Today marks the end of February , any take -over will now happen in March, at the earliest !!
Just to make it clear, I thought Murray was going to make his statement on Wednesday (tomorrow) , which will be the last day of February.

Murray said it could be February, which was his assessment at the time. But there’s an announcement tomorrow, the last day of Feb, and we don’t know what that will reveal.
I don’t think it’s worth getting her up about it myself.

I’m hoping he’ll confirm what I heard, but if it’s just to say the sale will be concluded in March, well March is a fine month for change, winter into spring etc
So long as he doesn’t say ‘could’, I guess.

Dear March - Come in -
    How glad I am -
I hoped for you before -
    Put down your Hat -
    You must have walked -
How out of Breath you are -
Dear March, how are you, and the Rest -
Did you leave Nature well -
Oh March, Come right upstairs with me -
I have so much to tell -

    April come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain
    May she will stay
    Resting in my arms again
    June she'll change her tune
In restless walks she'll prowl the night

    July she will fly
And give no warning to her flight
    August die she must
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold
    September I remember
A love once new has now grown old

From next season - the last date for permanent transfers is aug 9th - so our ceo / finance people should be planning for transfers now. Oops. Thats my worry with this taking so long.

  • Yes!!! Poetry is back, all we need now is a pot noodle poem, anyone?

  • He bought the 12-pack, took it home,
    No patience, straight away...
    Chicken and mushroom, added foam,
    With sweetcorn, too, hooray...
    Yet its taste required something,
    The tongue to dazzle more...
    With an oxo's beefy stuffing,
It thrilled him to the core!

    He salivated there, of course,
For what else could he do?
The noodles topped with soya sauce,
    Were spicy through and through!
He swirled and swirled the mixture round,
    Aromas everywhere...
One slurp and he was Heaven-bound!
    A feast beyond compare!

He leaned against the worktop's side,
Stood up and yet laid back,
With sniffing sounds he couldn't hide,
Then he took off his mac...
He shovelled noodles past his lips,
    They slithered down his throat...
    While spilling drips on fingertips,
    Whatever floats your boat...

His guilty pleasure thus went on,
    His belly boiling hot,
    Till finally, all noodles gone,
He raised and drained the pot...
He licked the giant spoon as well,
    Then thanked the Lord above...
You see, pot noodles cast a spell!
One pot and you're in love!

Bit harsh to criticise RM IMO, he is not in control of the sale, and can only relay what RD and the lawyers allow him to relay, & when.
