There's the muslim school down Foxbury Avenue, Darul Aloom or something like that. I didn't even know it was there until I went along to the Chislehurst Half Marathon last weekend.

On the day of our 2nd leg of play off when we went to Sydney arms to watch a guy came in, went into one of the sections of the pub. Smashed a chair over a bloke, came back through our section, out the front door and got back in his car and drove off. Apparently he knew the guy who was with his ex gf and he was meant to be at home looking after their child. Completely out of character for that area apparently. Hmmm. Don’t loads of gangsters live around there?!?2

There is also a rifle club in Foxbury Avenue, just past the school and before you get to Glebe FC. I went to Glebe 6 or 7 times last season. Rifles being fired is a strange back drop to an evening football match.0

Spent 17 years living in Old Perry Street. Plenty of wannabe gangsters in the Sydney Arms but no actual shooters.1

That pretty much sums it up, albeit a very expensive (to the taxpayer) nothing, with helicopters hovering for two hours and most of the OB from the local area, and the local police Twitter feed explaining that somebody thought they saw what might have been a gun. Seems that as well as being a mosque, the building in question is also HQ of the local (St Nicholas's) gun club...golfaddick said:sounds like a fuss about nothing.
