A hell of a lot of money lost (and won by bookies) on first or second round KO. Who was the promoter? Frank? What Frank Warren? Really?? Well I never...0

More punches thrown in the crowd than in the ring

Was Fury auditioning for Strictly ?
That was the Harlem Globetrotters playing basketball.
After the blood and guts of Flanagan and Hooker that was embarrassing.
Couldn't Frank Warren find a big rope a dope ?

Don't think Fury fancies that.McBobbin said:Fury v Bellew... not having that

The certain people you refer to were right as is the point you make.FishCostaFortune said:Mentioned the moment this fight was announced how farcical it was. Yet certain people tried to justify it by claiming how useful it would be to Fury because it gives him a chance to 'be in a training camp' and 'prepare for a fight' again.
Anyone who knows Fury and boxing will understand, and will have seen from tonight, that these are the least of his worries. What he needs to find again is his timing and his movement - which he won't have got one iota of from this fight.
Biggest loser's once again are the general public who fell for the marketing, and fell for the hype and spent a lot of money watching this.
Sure he will find another tomato can next and the same people will part with the same money to watch that.
I don’t personally think anyone’s a loser from it, the hype around the fight was for the return of Fury it was never touted as a potential great fight. I genuinely think if you’re disappointed with what happened then it’s you’re own fault Cos a lot of people who know their boxing knew what to expect, sat back and took it for what it was.0 -
I don’t think anyone was expecting a great fight.
What I think they were expecting (for a guy trying to shake off years of ring-rust) was a few more punches thrown and a bit less clowning and dancing.
He’s had his issues and it’s good to see him back I guess (if only for his own well being) - but from a boxing perspective I do not see how last night’s bout progressed his comeback at all.2 -
That’s a fair point and I don’t think you’re wrong. Hopefully the next opponent is of a greater stature and we can see a bit of a contest.SuedeAdidas said:I don’t think anyone was expecting a great fight.

Last nights build up, camp, being under the lights etc all would have done him good in one way or another as NLA has said.
Let’s see what happens in the next one.0 -

We will learn more in the next weeks , Tyson saying he is back out in August means no break in camp , from what I saw i worry more about the Ben Davidson hook up now than I did before many things in the Tyson armory that didn’t look rightSuedeAdidas said:I don’t think anyone was expecting a great fight.

If you Frank Warren you must have woke up this morning thinking what am I doing? How desperate do I have to be for a pound note?
40 years in the game culminating in putting on a mis-matched circus with a backdrop of hundreds of fighting travellers. Where’s your self credibility?
Or am I being too harsh?0 -

I still believe the Tyson fury who beat Klitchko would have beaten Joshua.
But it appears we may not see that Tyson fury again.2 -

Not sure on Ricky Hattons role in all this0 -
Didn't realise Tyson was only 29. Got time on his hands. Next few fights are the test0

Was thinking the same thing about BJS the other day, he talks so highly of Jamie Moore, but would that type of trainer be able to work with Tyson Fury?
When you hear him talk (and you know the bloke mate), he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would easily defer to anyone else, or take instruction easily. Happens with a lot of Boxer/Trainer relationships, where eventually the boxer feels that he knows as much as the trainer - so why keep giving him the 10%?
That is all well and good in some cases, but has Tyson Fury developed enough knowledge and expertise from ONE World Title fight, to be able to mastermind his own comeback?
The next fight will be another stiff, but it will be fights 3 and 4, when he will need to turn the quality up a bit more, and fighters in the mix by then like Haye, Price, Bellew and Ortiz etc will not be easily pushed aside with as little resistance as the guy at the weekend!!

Ben has no gym and no affiliation to a gym he is MGM which is a good thing in some ways and bad in others
Jamie Moore and Steve Wood have a very good exclusive little Gym at the back of VIP plumbing supplies in Manchester
And they are in a good place but I think the Tyson should go to the Ingle Gym personally and he will be able to get the best of both worlds from there

Shelly Finkel (Wilders manager) has confirmed they've agreed a deal to fight AJ in the autumn in the UK.
Also agreed a rematch in the USA.
Hearn has previously said he has a date booked at Wembley for September but any later than that would have to go to Cardiff for the roof.1 -

So disappointed in the fight on Saturday, first 2 rounds were pointless. The person fighting was also a joke, he couldn't land a punch if he was fighting for a week.
Fury - Didn't really come out with any positives, might of wanted more rounds but 1st 2 was all showboating and not doing anything. Also the guy didnt come out after the 4th was very planned.
hopefully next fight he has is a bit of a step up (well it can only be that way), can see him fighting Bellew which i dont see him being troubled but can be Bellews final payday.
AJ or any of the others will not be losing any sleep just yet, but still early days will take 18 months at least to get there and i do wonder who they are lining up for a world title shot by the end of the year?
PS- dont even get me started on the fight in the audience, standard for a fury fight its pathetic0 -
