Before kick off Jason Pearce went up for the coin toss and not Chris Solly who was also in the team.

Hopefully Pearce will be captain this season.
A proper leader on the pitch.

I thought Fosu looked different class. Taylor did well including his work rate coming back. Karlan looked dangerous second half. Taylor Maloney looked the best of the youngsters. We seemed to play at a quicker pace with the 2nd half 11. Interesting to see Djiksteel at centre back and Marshall at right back.

Using golf in the user name must mean automatic moaning about anything and everything

    Getting mine done next Tuesday.

  • Bow has said he's happy to have AMB as back-up keeper but he must be the only one who does. Maybe in a few years with decent coaching. Rabbit in the headlights. Let's hope Phillips stays fit. 2nd half side dominated. Maloney and Lapslie did ok, other kids nowhere near. KAG was dangerous as was Igor. How many will be with us at SoL? Disappointed not to see Blumberg as at least one CB may be off. AD is not a central defender.

You can get an emergency loan for a keeper though can’t you ?

    No need, use Magennis.

Doubt Magennis will be here. Not a solution anyway is it.

Thought Phillips was very slow getting down for the first QPR goal. Number 1 shirt is still available. Emergency loans only available if no keepers are available.

In that case you would have to start games with no goalkeeper on the bench ?

Blumberg is left side CB and covered at present. If Bauer goes 2 right side defenders will be needed.

Give the lad a chance. No doubt he was a bit nervous as he has little or no 1st team match experience.
Allow him the time to adjust and develop. Confidence comes with playing. He wouldn't be here if the management team didn't rate him.

Good to see everyone get 45 minutes under there belt.

    Taylor looked good
    Vetokele looked good

    Didnt see much of Hawkins
AMB not ready for 1st team action feel he should have done better for there goal

I see another Pope moaning coming on. Remember, he was not experienced enough, he was nervy, he could not hold onto the ball. Sold him cheap and look where he is now. Give our young players a chance, we are never going to buy many good players
  • I said he needed more coaching. Never even crossed his mind to come for any set piece. I'd like to see a loan in and him go out to a local side. Or bring back Connor Gough. (And Nadir Ciftci would be a good signing!)

But as you said little to no 1st team expierence.

So he needs a loan, we want to get out of League 1, if Phillips gets injured would you be happy with having AMB come in for say 2 months having not played for the 1st team, or could those 2 months end up costing us promotion.

Keepers under a certain age don't count.

Still personally think he needs a loan.

    He is 19

Nick Pope had a couple of loans and came back better

Dillon Phillips has had a few loans and looks to have come back a better player.

Think thats what we need to be doing with Ashley, give him a loan to League 2 or Vanarama League and see how he comes back next summer.

Just think a lack if 1st team games and suddenly he has to come in, when we are fighting to get out this league, doesnt feel me with confidence.

I am not writting him off just saying as with Pope and Phillips he will benefit for a year on loan playing week in week out

Goalkeepers tend to get better with age and experience. Look at Etheridge once of this parish for example.

He's not a solution as a striker either, but he's been used a lot in the last 2 years

To say 'you must be pleased' is a crap question feeding the expected answer. Why not simply ask how he feels about things?
