Summer 2018 transfer rumours

So we are looking at Pratley as I spoke about last week but got told not. Would be good signing with experience, him and Forster-Caskey could be very decent in this division.
If we sign Martin, that would be rather embarrassing and I would much prefer to give Phillips a chance.4 -
Think I would prefer Pratley to Dawson. 30+ games in Champ last year and regularly played at a higher level than Dawson.5
-
Don't know about Pratley, but i do know Dawson is the fittest player at Bury. FACT1

Nice looking lad Redhenry? ;0)Redhenry said:Don't know about Pratley, but i do know Dawson is the fittest player at Bury. FACT

It most certainly would be. Our record departure was Steve Morison to Norwich for £2.8m.Redhenry said:Must be a record for a Millwall player
If we manage to sign Tom Bradshaw then the chances are that our astronomical highest fee paid will also be eclipsed.0 -

Pratley seems like he might be a reasonable acquisition under the circumstances, provided he has a bit of energy about him. Don't want a Crofts MK2.0

Very good and high in anecdote, albeit untrueTodds_right_hook said:

A source inside Camelot has revealed that a man from New Cross was a recent lottery winner. The lucky man was delighted to announce that he had spent his winnings on a new player for his beloved Millwall. He said: "If my three numbers come up again I'll gladly buy them another!"

Sadly Pearce thinks that Bauer will go...

I bet most of the squad probably want to leave, we're a shambles.2
-
I will be gutted if Bauer does go, don't really care about Magennis much tbh as ultimately I see him as an option from the bench. Pat though I see being a big player for us even if we get promoted, we won't find a player of his quality for how much we would sell him.5
-
I hope we are looking to bring Martin in as competition to Phillips. Only way I want Phillips as number 2 is if we manage to bring in a top top keeper ala Amos.1
-
100% agree. Pratley has played in the Prem & loads of experience in the Championship.DamoNorthStand said:Think I would prefer Pratley to Dawson. 30+ games in Champ last year and regularly played at a higher level than Dawson.

Pratley, Cullen, Forster-Caskey, Aribo, Dijksteel should be decent enough for this league. The problem then will be the rest of the squad0
-
_____, Phillips
_____, Solly
Pearce, Sarr
Bauer, _____
Page, _____
Marshall, _____
______, Forster-Caskey
Aribo, Dijksteel
Clarke, Reeves
Fosu, _____
Magennis, Taylor
Vetokele, Ajose
By my reckoning, we're short 7 players as it is, amd that doesn't account for departures (or youth players stepping up admittedly but I'd rather have 2 players for every position and them on top)

Though Bowyer didn’t mention Dijksteel when talking about CMs. Only JFC, Aribo, Lapslie and Maloney. Did he forget him or see him as a RB and maybe cover at CB?0
-
a) wouldn't want to sign Martin as he is not good enough but
b) if we do he has to be back up to Phillips but
c) I'd rather go with Phillips as first choice and get another experienced, aged cover as back up4 -
Our midfield is going to be bullied out of games. You need a physical presence in this league which we lack1

I'd be happy with David Martin, and indeed am still puzzled why we never signed him last summer, as he is I recall! 1st choice keeper for 7 years at MKD
I would be gutted if Bauer left, but not surprised as to me he should be playing in the Championship. I'm sure he can do better than Blackburn thoughas long as it's not Millwall as a replacement for Cooper2 -
Pratley could help address thatBigRedEvil said:Our midfield is going to be bullied out of games. You need a physical presence in this league which we lack

Amos gone to shithole down the road . Shame. Best keeper we've had down the Valley in Years3
-
So by the looks of things, if Dawkins can prove his fitness to Bowyer, he is someone we are likely to sign. If Pratley chooses to come to us, he is someone we would like to bring in, and we could be working on a deal for Cullen on loan, which would be the two centre midfielders that Bowyer has been speaking about.
That leaves a back up keeper behind Phillips, a left back to support and give competition to Page, and a right sided centre back.
All without losing anyone.
This takeover needs to go through very, very soon because ultimately, we need to sign at least another 6 players without us losing anyone at all.3 -
You've also got to expect Magennis and Bauer to potentially goSage said:So by the looks of things, if Dawkins can prove his fitness to Bowyer, he is someone we are likely to sign. The former might happen a bit quicker now that Bolton have gotten rid of Amos for another season1 -
You are forgetting Karlan Grant, he would probably be classed as one of the wide midfielders you have left blank, Dawkins probably the other.sam3110 said:_____, Phillips

Realistically, I don't think we will sign another right-back and instead I can see Dijksteel filling in, rightly or wrongly. And with my post above, the squad could look a bit more like this...
Phillips, _____
Solly, Dijksteel
Pearce, Sarr
Bauer, _____
Page, _____
Marshall, Dawkins
Pratley, Forster-Caskey
Aribo, Cullen
Clarke, Reeves
Fosu, Grant
Magennis, Taylor
Vetokele, Ajose0 -
I think Marshall will be cover for Solly. I called it last season and he did well there vs QPR.1
-
That could easily be due to a lack of options rather than a permanent move.harveys_gardener said:I think Marshall will be cover for Solly. I called it last season and he did well there vs QPR.
