Does this mean we are out of the stupid f*****g competition for another year?
  • I hope someone constructs a 50 feet high effigy of Ajose and Lapslie, and burns it to show our anguish at them missing penalties tonight.
  • Come on, someone get the post match thread up

What a stupid competition, its a draw in a group stage game, why is it going to pens?

To keep the 1200 fans on the edge of their seats for an extra point on offer.

  • Oh well Wimbledon continue to be a bogey side

Would prefer to smash them in the league twice

Shit cup no one cares but good luck to the Dons in their journey to Wembley sadly ours is over and I think I might be over it by tomorrow

    My CAFC games this week.

    Charlton 1-1 Forest
    Charlton 2-2 Wimbledon

    So 3-3 on saturday
  • I am so bored with how stupid football is now. What a pointless competition it is, up there with all forty divisions of the Scottish league for shitty crapness

This match probably cost more to put on than the revenue it brings in. Just a money and time waster for the whole league.
  • I’m a football snob and I’m embarrassed we are associated with this shit .
I mean palace u-23s are in it and so are our first team , beyond insulting .

I actually don’t know if palace u-23s are in it but I’ve heard some prem teams kids are in it

  • An absorbing evening, the highlights being two outstanding second-half goals, Mascoll's just shading it, and George Lapslie - Scott Parker in a Boris Johnson syrup.

Say what you like about this unloved trophy, but it was good to have the chance to see some of our future stars - there's real talent there. Also good for Igor to stretch his legs and Mark Marshall ditto who had a busy night sadly without the end product it deserved. Ben Reeves' first game back, so early days, but he looked the shadow of a ghost, failing to catch the eye in the same way as the young 'uns. This was a real Bowyer team, spiky and talented.

And a cameo appearance in the lounge by the BFG, who'd shaken off Saturday's doldrums. Always great to meet him.
  • Havent seen any of the pens but when I saw Ajose was taking the first I knew he'd miss...

He was the sensible one against Colchester a few years ago who helped out with the commentary and when Konsa missed the decisive penalty he commented that Ezri had done every one a favour by missing it

Obviously the players dont care about this

First team players probably don’t care but I imagine Lapslie, Morgan, Maloney etc do as it’s a chance to play for the first team.
