Apologies if already mentioned but I’d imagine Pompey away will also be called off as it falls on the next international break, gutting seen as that one could have had similar importance and atmosphere as last season on the Saturday!!1

The OS said players have already been notified, which you'd expect (especially for the likes of Taylor, Cullen, and Ward who are all shoe ins for their level when fit and willing).killerandflash said:

I also think it's the club doing their best to get as much advanced warning as possible. There's no good solution to this problem that I can see, but trying to give as much advanced notice as possible is probably the best way to handle things.2 -
Personally, I think it’s totally out of order than international games are scheduled for weekends when players are supposed to be doing their day job and most fans will usually have the time to attend games. The whole situation is made worse by the cost of travel and the pricing system for trains that we have in this country. The fixture list is published in advance and clubs should stick to it unless somebody wants to pay for it to be changed and, say, at the very least free travel is arranged for fans inconvenienced by the switch in dates. If football associations and tv companies want to make money out of the football product, of which the fans are an important integral part, then it’s about time fans are treated with a bit more respect. With the billions that are in the game today it’s surely only a matter of time until a firm of lawyers initiate a class action against the FAs and the clubs to get a piece of the action.5
