RIP.
Also recommend the museum on the A303.
Notice he was only an MBE which is a travesty when you see knighthoods dished out for fun.1 -

I went out last night in a Haynes BSA Bantam t-shirt. One of my mates asked if I was wearing it for a special reason. Obviously, I wasn't as I needed him to explain to me what he meant. Sad to say my special reason was that it was only £10 in Tesco. Fascinating books, great drawings. Quite iconic. RIP JH.0

Always had a Haynes manual for my first few cars because I knew I would need them. Didnt bother when I started buying German cars. RIP John Haynes.0

Was lucky enough to do my work experience at Haynes in Sparkford. John came in and checked with me how it was going, and also asked me to change one of the tyres on his car. Which I did whilst he was chatting to me, then he gave me £20 for doing it, I told him it was ok and he didn’t need to but I could give it to charity, so he then gave me another £20 and said thats for you give the other £20 to charity.
Nice guy.3 -
