  • more direct action is needed it is clear it works, he is close to a breakdown.

Poor me I don't deserve tis blah blah blah. Everyone else's thought blah blah blah.

He is running out of options no one will pay his price as the land is not actually worth that much. take what you paid for the club and walk away and this is all finished.

Don't like the way that interview reads at all. Makes it sound like the problems are only related to what results we get on the pitch.

I’ve read Duchatelet’s statement over and over again and I can’t find any mention of Karel Fraeye in reference to the relegation season.
Surely he should have said something along the lines of, ‘In October 2015 I appointed Karel Fraeye as ‘interim’ manager of Charlton Athletic with the expectation that he would save the club from relegation from the Championship. This was a masterstroke, particularly bearing in mind Fraeye’s impressive record in guiding VW Hamme to a comfortable mid table position in the Belgian third division. The Charlton fans never appreciated that this was obviously the best appointment I could have made at that time, as I’ve said, a masterstroke that even Alan Turing would never have thought of.‘

I see the club are now tweeting about the Upbeats in an attempt to deflect attention away from the statement. Disgusting and shameful exploitation.
    Unfair and untrue @JaShea99

The club regularly tweet about the upbeats and did so on Saturday.

They posted part one on Tuesday

    and part two today

They were 21 tweets from the club today.  Only one was about the upbeats and one other was about the fans forum meeting
I don't agree, it's too much of a coincidence and they have a history of it.
Who is they? You don’t believe that the team behind our Twitter account also wrote the post on official site today? I don’t see the issue with our twitter account posting a follow up article about the Upbeats
It's not a coincidence.  It's a community trust activity that the comms team have promoted before and again today and had nothing to do with the statement.

if you listen to RD on talksport it's the comms teams he blames.

You are way way off here @jashea99

Hopefully the EFL might be more sympathetic now.  My concern is that he’s so unstable that he might try and flog Sparrows to the Stripeys or the Scum, run down the Valley until RBG to agree to residential PP and just dissolve the footballing side.  I just hope that the EFL would allow AFC Charlton to carry on as is, even if it meant ground sharing...again...
  • Mad and amusing,  but also very interesting how it confirms what many speculated on here at the time that FFP rule changes are the thing that (in his mind) derailed his master plan for making money out of English football.

Planet earth RDs ego has never been there.

Fit and Proper test must include something about being of sound mind ,RD clearly aint.

I think this c--t (for he is the biggest one to ever darken CAFCs door)is going to close this club down .

If leaving The Valley decades back was our darkest day , then we are approaching something much darker----if The Rat is here at the end of this season we are looking at total humiliation next year and possible death of CAFC its close

.... I wonder just how far he’s prepared to downscale the club to keep costs to a bare minimum even in league two and still retain the assets.
Good point, particularly given that he doesn’t see the football club as having any value. As others have said I do think Roland is capable of anything. Very worried about our future now.

And yet fans still go and support him. And others still work for him!
  • I think we need to let the dust settle over the next few weeks and then consider a massive trip to St Truiden.
    Like a thousand or more.
I disagree, we need a group of fans out there this weekend, keep the heat on him.

I'm more than willing to help financially if people have the time to spare.
I'll run with that for the 9th March weekend.

Amazed we still have a comms team.  He abuses them publicly and regularly, refuses to pay them contractural bonuses then publishes his own mad shit on our website.

I hope the comms staff are super well paid because it has to be about the worst job going at the moment.

Even though it's another day of Roland.

I still wish the Trump thread existed. It would be particularly entertaining at this time. Things have got chaotic.

Roland and Trump...are they secretly related?

    Half brothers from another mother?

    They are too alike.

Just old rich businessmen (sometimes political) assholes that get in the way and get on everyone's nerves.

Then there would be the odd random Charlton-lifer like Colin and someone else that would maybe stubbornly stick up for them In a nice WUM fashion.

    It's fake news folks.

He is the Donald Trump of the football world.  Probably will announce plans to build a wall round the Valley next season with the logic being if the opponents cannot get onto the pitch then we will have a huge advantage.

Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. It’s cute that people still think things like this could be conicidence though.

I don't feel for the tosser. He can afford to get it cleaned up - at least he doesn't have to change words like 'cock' to 'cook' or 'piss' to 'pass'.

Either agree to disagree or have a sly dig but you can't do both.

It's a CACT story, they ran it earlier in the week, the Comms team are getting direct stick from RD but in your cute mind they are covering for him. Wake up and admit you're wrong.

    Missed all this again !!!!

    Belatedly, WTF ???

I refer m'luds  to my post on the FF minutes thread around midday  before this broke....a bit like RD.

"RD needs to be questioned by the EFL and his mental state reviewed in a new Fit & Proper Person's test."

And I feel pretty optimistic that this is already in the pipeline in some shape or form c/o those who put their names where their mouths are....

I have a strange feeling , maybe even a tingle, that this could be the start of something BIG....

    ...for our beloved football club.

    Bring it on !!!!
Can the EFL now declare RD unfit and if so do they have any power to actually do anything?
