Another Bonkers Statement from Roland - the "The EFL must buy the club" one

I'd be surprised if they didn't.0

Bit tired of the constant digs at Jim White saying he is ‘best mates’ with Roland etc.
Jim White is not my favourite character in the world, but he has done what was necessary to get Roland talking publicly and ultimately to get Roland to expose and embarrass himself on more than one occasion.
Yes I know he got fooled by the whole “it’s happening” thing, but I think JW has helped our cause a lot more than people are giving him credit for.52 -
I think the protesters on hear should now fear that Roland is giving the EFL an ultimatum, take the club of my hands or I will close it. His statement can only be read as such.0

Ultimately he will lose money ... it’s a question of how much damage he can do to the club in the meantime. He seems to be a very vindictive little man.2 -

If a bit of graffiti has upset him, think what the consequences to him might be if he destroyed our great club.2 -

Owner Roland Duchatelet demands EFL acquire Charlton
...Football has been the fastest growing industry in England in recent decades.
However which foreign candidate owner will be prepared to invest millions to get a chance to bring a club to the Premier League and at the same time accept acts of vandalism against his property and intrusion in his private life, wherever in the world he/she livTherefore the owner demands that the EFL acquires his football club.
This is a man who earns his money in electronics and yet thinks that in recent decades football has been the fastest growing industry in England. What nonsense. Mobile phones and broadband have come from nowhere to become completely ubiquitous. How can football possibly have become bigger than these?
Secondly and more importantly to us 'which foreign owner will be prepared to in vest millions'. WTF. Roland, you are trying to sell a club. What salesman leads on a negative?
He's not clever, he's a grade a prat who made a pile by knowing one element of one business. Instead of recognising that and enjoying his wealth, he kidded himself (and a few others) that he was Billy Big Bollocks and ran headlong into a string of problems through his sheer arrogance and inability to see the bigger picture. Clever, my arse!

Is there any mileage in setting up a ‘Roland is Bonkers’ website? Posting examples of his rants and actions thus having everything in one place. There could be a CARD page, ROT page, Getting to know the Nerwork page. Perhaps along the same lines as Airman Brown diaries ... just a thought7

He is the sort of person who goes into one when he gets prodded. We have seen it over and over again. It only encourages people to prod him of course!0

The only way that we are going to truly hurt RD is if it hits him in the pocket because that is what he covets most - and doing that to the Club is counter productive because he will just continue to sell our biggest assets i.e. our best young players.
Are there any of his other businesses that can successfully be undermined and targeted - in a legal way of course.0 -

He blames the EFL for changes in FFP, but avoids the important part that he could have put money in as equity rather than loans, he chose to do the latter, including charging interest that increases the debt further (remember your FD saying it was friendly debt RD?). With the loan debt he has built up he's been loosing what he's allowed broadly anyway. Based on this he wants the EFL to buy the club....... he also conveniently doesn't mention the quality of players brought in on long and lucrative contracts, is that the fans fault, the EFL's or the comms team?
We've done to death the relegation and proved beyond doubt it was nothing to do with protests where we won most games that had protests and everything to do with inferior players, managers and constant changes etc.
He says the first two years of ownership were without problems, what world is he living in, there may not have been in game protests but they were not without problems. Very much those first two years set the tone for the relegation and the downward spiral that led to protests.
He has decided it was fans who wrote the graffiti, he's now a visionary policeman, investigator and prosecutor as well as everything else.
Roland, wake up and smell the coffee, you own a club losing money day after day, week after week, month after month. With 'assets' worth less than £12m (read your own accounts). It is your vision that got us relegated, decreased the clubs income (you mention FFP?!) and it was you and yours that wasted millions of pounds, alienated and insulted fans to the extent that you've lost 5,000 paying 'customers' as well as commercial sponsors.
If anyone offers you £20m cash bite their hand off as it's probably not really worth that much.
Due to your stubbornness and ridiculous sale price you've probably lost £10m since putting the club up for sale you moron,
Everything will sell, you just have to have the right price, thats what stopping the sale, anything else is just noise, noise you're making thats hindering a sale even further.45 -

He no doubt thinks the owner is a bell but calling him out and showing him up like Jordan did earlier this week will put an end to that relationship and line of communication.
Thanks to white and the bizarre unlikely relationship he's fostered his show has been the owner's go to media platform of choice beyond the kamikaze OS rants.
That is absolute gold dust for us as opponents...rather than issuing carefully crafted spin via PR gurus he's getting him to show himself up on national sports radio which then ebbs the mainstream national media.
White is not the enemy same as most of the faux enemies over the years that have been hailed as an issue and helped garner the divide and rule that has emerged and enabled the owner to continue to piss on our club as he has done.
The current relationship white has is hugely beneficial to the plight of getting shot of this wally.

100% right he cares not one jot about the money
In undermining his other businesses both his bank balance and reputation as being a successful businessman is tarnished.
He is doing enough himself by issuing statements such as this one to damage everyone else's perception of him - and that's not just us.0 -

I imagine RD would have no qualms in destroying the club to get back at the fans - whether he's deranged or not he still owns us and given his wealth can largely behave how he wants.
He has to leave the club eventually but nobody can guess his exit strategy.0 -

So he is pissed about the money to the extent that if he doesn't sell for above a certain amount, he diminishes the amount of personal profit he can show when he exits football (we know he was well up when he left Standard, and left them bereft). His goal is to leave with a decent profit and then proclaim "Look at all these business people who went into football and lost shedloads. See how I, Roland Duchatelet, have made money out of football, in the face of adversity both professional and personal. I am indeed a genius..."
Over colourful of course, but I am pretty sure now that this is how he thinks, how he is...13 -
It’s always been about the real estate. In his befuddled mind he has a delusional price tag in his head not realising how difficult, if not impossible, it would be to redevelop the Valley, The man is irrational to the extreme and all the signs were there at the beginning in not doing his due diligence. After the Spivs and their antics with the peninsula, I reckon old Roly thought he could go one better and pull it off. He showed just where his mindset was when he mentioned house prices in Kensington. He is a nutbag make no mistake but a dangerous one. He wants his pound of flesh and he has the resources to wait it out or ruin the club in doing so.1
-
Those that have met and spoken to Rolly say he clearly has mental issues, and if he was my family or a friend I would be trying to help him. Why they are not trying to help him is a mystery to me, and if they are, they are not doing a very good job.
His call to Talksport and the rant on the Club website is an embarrassment and I would have thought that some duty of care should have been afforded him by the Club. Perhaps the Fans Forum could ask what they are doing to help him? The Club do have some responsibility.
I don’t though. It is his weakness and we should do everything we can to exploit it.
We almost need a press officer to put the stories out into the Belgium press alluding to and questioning his mental health.
Any interaction with his associates seems to put his brain into tilt, any ideas as to how we can exploit this?

He lives at Stayen where he has his restaurants and hotels, these are the businesses close to his heart.
