Having read my grandad’s book about 20 times one of the things he was most proud of was his scouting system. Charlton certainly needed it back then because the Glikstens were ‘in the hole’, and wanted their money back. They weren’t spending money unless they really had to, and he was expected to make considerable profits on transfer dealings.
His network was run by his elder brother (who was also his footballing mentor) Anthony. Without this network of scouts scouring the country’s lower leagues, Charlton would never have had the success it had.
So basically I want to shove Thomas’ laptop somewhere I mustn’t mention.

He has actually on there claimed to have nothing to do with the signings of Polish Pete and he advised against Lepoint.

Genuinely surprised by the news that Driesen is still involved, especially given the players we've signed over the past 12-18 months.
You wouldn't have expected Driesen to have even heard of most of them.
