also, Newcastle are known as the magpies, though they have dropped the bird from their current badge .. interestingly (or not depending on your point of view lol), Newcastle's original colours were red shirts and white shorts ..Notts County are also called the magpies and incorporate the bird in their badge .. I see a lot of magpies around here .. a lovely looking bird, the contrast between black and white
