Thought it was a good honest interview personally. Gives us credit and even says the keeper on Igor might have been a red when it was the correct call IMO.

Their keeper should have been sent off, and the Williams pen minutes before the Lyle one was a stonewaller. They barely threatened in the second half and we deserved to win, Lyles pen wasnt a deciding factor.

To be fair I'd agree the penalty was soft and probably changed the game in the sense that it brought us level and put more pressure on the Luton defence to make those two mistakes

The fact remains though that Williams should have had a penalty minutes earlier so evened itself up

If anything; Sonny Bradley was an idiot to put himself in a position only moments after that decision when it would have been fresh in the referee's mind
  • Fantastic game - can't remember last time I enjoyed a game so much. Felt we could have had a couple of pens that weren't given.

Lost my voice by the end. Great atmosphere and good win over Luton who looked classy in the first 45.

Automatic promotion still an outside chance but we must have a good chance in the playoffs

Hes forgetting their keeper should have sent off, and the Williams pen minutes before the Lyle one was a stonewaller.
Well he's not, he mentioned the incident and says it was touch and go for a red which is probably fair. Without seeing the replay I thought a yellow was fair.

What a game. Luton showed why they are top of the league with some excellent breaks and brilliant overlapping on the wings. Philips has grown an grown into our number one and that save was top drawer.

We had chances first half and I was gutted that Taylor didn't manage to take that chance, although I thought he was being pulled back and potentially should have gone down. Their keeper was a charmed man to not get sent off.

Second half was absolutely superb. Bauer won everything in the air, Sarr was solid and played some excellent passes once again. Purrington continued to improve with his movement and positional work down the left. Solly put in a class performance once again.

Our midfield was excellent. Bielik cut through them like they weren't there, Cullen mopped up everything, won balls he had no right to win and played some excellent, quick, incisive passes. Aribo really grew into the game and played like the ball was stuck to his feet at times. Williams was the pick of the bunch for me though - he worked his socks off and ran them ragged. Our third was all down to his tenacity and he should have had a pen. He plays with such a big smile on his face and it is a joy to watch him play.

Igor is back! Brilliantly taken goal and assist. He worked tirelessly all game, especially with Taylor pulling out wide for much of the match. I thought it wasn't going to be his day when he just missed that header. Igor Igor Igor!

Lyle Taylor was Lyle Taylor at his best. An impudent penalty followed by a pouncing finish for our third. What a feeling!

I had to apologise for accidentally hitting the person in front a couple of times today whilst over exhuberantly celebrating - sorry again! But how good is it to have that feeling back again?! Lee Bowyer, you've done wonders for this team and Roland you are an ever bigger fool than everyone thinks you are if you aren't going to tie this man down who has performed miracles with next to no financial support.

As an aside - does Bielik have some bad luck in the groin area or what!? Every time he went down, he walked off clutching his balls - luckily for him, no fans ran on the compound the problem

Yeah I feel the ref made a couple of howlers with the keeper not getting sent off and the Williams pen, so any player going down with some contact in the box hed be more inclined to give a pen

Agreed, I think we "earned" that penalty on cumulative fouls!

Luton countered very well with pace and purpose and scored a great goal in the first half. Both sides looked above the level and it was a great advert for the League. Incredible decision not to send their keeper off but I thought we might get a pen as ref must have known he had called it wrong. The Williams non penalty, I think I agree with, he knew the player was running with him, slowed down and let the player run into him them dived over. The Taylor penalty was a bit soft, but stupid of the defender who should have been more careful where he put his hands. Justice as they should have been down to ten earlier.

I thought we made them look League One in the second half. It was great to see Vetokele looking like the decent striker we have been hoping for. What isn't to like?

That's the first game I've been to this season with my eldest. I thought the first half was fairly even but we probably shaded it. We didn't close down quickly enough. Sarr and Purrington were dragged out of position for the Luton goal. I'm not sure whether we should have had a penalty when Igor was tripped. I'll reserve judgement when I see it on TV. Lyle probably should have scored when he hit the bar. Phillips kept us in the game with a tremendous save right in front of us in the North Lower. Bowyer must have ripped into the lads during the interval because the second half we were far the better team. That performance was probably the best I've seen us play in many years. The atmosphere was great. The covered end were tremendous. Luton didn't know what hit them and that was evidence as their fans were silent for the second half. Lyle seemed to have taken an age to run up for the penalty. Igor took his goal really well. Bielek had a much improved second half. I didn't think he would have been able to have carried on after he hobbled off to the side lines twice for treatment. Williams was man of the match for me. Energetic and his passing and ball control were class. Lapslie was tremendous when he came on and pressured their back four and midfield into making mistakes. Lyle timed his run well from Igor's tremendous cross. The whole team played well. Sarr and Bauer were solid. Aribo was missing in the first half but was much improved in the second. A brilliant performance and great atmosphere. If only the owner would hurry up and sell and we would have such an even better feeling about The Valley.

Absolutely love the pic on Twitter of Igor wheeling away just after scoring. His face shows what it meant to him.
Once you get one, you’ll get more - as the old song goes.
Could be a massive player for us between now and then end of the season. COYRs

For 30 minutes Luton looked a league above us. Very well taken first goal, and not long after they could’ve gone two up, were it not for a flying save by Dillon Phillips. That’s two games in a row where he’s influenced the course of a match?m in a positive way.
We gradually grew into the game, and in the second half we were something else!
When Igor was through on goal he’d already missed the target when the goalkeeper took him out, hence the yellow rather than the red.

[Edit: Having seen the incident again I think it’s a straight red for a dangerous tackle].

Wonderful to see Igor and Lyle forming a proper partnership.

Great win, but still unhappy that Naby wasn’t given the free kick that Cullen tamely hit at the wall. What were they thinking!?

Watched on on iFollow in the Canaries, and it was priceless to hear the Luton fan commentator going from smug to despondent in the course of 60 minutes.

Luton claiming our goals were all ''gifts" - sour grapes!

So was ours to them; Had Purrington not been out of position we wouldnt have been a man down at the back so would have snuffed out the ball sooner

All goals are ultimately gifts to the opposition!!

Is it fair to say we are best side in the division at this point in time?

If we play like today then yes.

Well we're top of the form table over the last eight games and three of those games have been against teams in the top six (Luton | Portsmouth | Doncaster) whilst just one of those games was against one of the teams that were / are in the relegation zone (Bradford)

Slowly coming back down to earth after a superb performance. Luton piled on the pressure after they took the lead with an impressive finish from Cornick in the first half and we were certanily not overawed by their play. We looked deadly in the second half and hit them with a quick one two knock out punch after equalizing. Ref should have thrown in the towel for Hartford after that third goal and it was a sight to behold seeing that Covered End and the rest of the ground bouncing when we took the lead and then got a third. Shame we have only got Bielik for one season as he is mustard.

Glad you mentioned this - three times in the first half, purrington ambler back when out of position .  Glad that didn’t cost us; granted he improved as the match went on

He was getting forwards - people moan when he doesn't. The thing was, in the first half Luton broke with pace, quality and purpose. We edged the half, but they looked most likely to be fair. In the second half we were totally dominant.

The ref was poor - should have shown their keeper a red, I think he wasn't sure. Then decided Williams collison wasn't a pen, which I think was correct, but the third call, he was going to side with us. it is how most refs work! Thought it was stupid of the Luton player to put his hands where he did, but Taylor played for it.

Well deserved win though against a team, let's remind ourselves, haven't been beaten in 6 months!
