Another statement from Roland on the OS

https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5cd00045a6ae2/congratulations-to-the-promoted-teams
Please see below for a message from Charlton Athletic owner Roland Duchatelet.
I would like to congratulate Luton Town and Barnsley on their promotion to the Championship.
I would also like to pass on my congratulations Norwich City and to Chris Wilder and Sheffield United on their respective promotions to the Premier League.
What Wilder has achieved, with the playing budget he has, is very impressive and something he, the club and their fans can be very proud of.
He came close to joining us in the summer of 2016 when we selected him to be our manager but he decided to go to Sheffield United where he knew he would be welcomed by everybody.
While their seasons’ may be finished, we still have a very important few weeks ahead of us and our focus has to be on getting promotion to the Championship.
The staff, the players and the Charlton fans have all played their part this year and now we need one last collective push to give us the best chance of promotion.

I’m sure he’s trolling us now.6
-
congratulates Chris Wilder. Doesn’t congratulate Bowyer
hahah wtf.46 -
Yeah, where he'd be welcomed by everybody and allowed a bit of control over his own f***ing team.11
-
He’s just plain weird.0
-
We've only got ourselves to blame. Please forgive us oh, wise one.0
-
A man doesn't make statements like this for something that he claims only takes up 2% of his time.
He is obsessed with us and won't be happy until we all burn in hell!6 -
I honestly believe there is some wierd deep rooted physiological problem in his head. He seems desperate to have a dig at us fans at any oppourtnity.1
-
Chances that Roland actually wrote that?

Disgusting statement.
1. To praise Wilder implying he wishes he was here, then not even mention Bowyer who has worked fucking miracles with Jackson and still ain’t got a contract, is cuntish even by his standards.
2. Although I’m more glad we’ve got Bowyer, the fans would have welcomed Wilder. Where was there ever a suggestion they wouldn’t have?
God, even when things are going great on the pitch, he manages to bring all my anger flooding back.

I wonder if he could name the coaches and in which order he hired and fired them. There have been so many changes of staff over the last few years I doubt he could name the the third of sixth without a wicki search.
i also doubt he knows how other clubs are run or budgeted but I’m sure the clubs he’s sent these kind words are thrilled to have this visionary’s complements.0 -
So the team he owns has finished the highest of the play off teams and came close to automatic promotion. Other than using the word “ staff “ there is no reference to Lee Bowyer. He then extols Chris Wilder, who turned him down, over three paragraphs! Really bizarre.5
-
He should be allowed to post these disgusting comments on his own website, but not the clubs.
Its got nothing to do with us apart from to twist the knife further in blaming fans for a manager not coming to us.
With Any other club that had sat in fifth for most of the season and then grabbed third on final day, the owners post-season comments would be about the incredible job done by manager, coaching staff, players etc etc.
Ours just tries to stir up more bad feelings.16 -
He just doesn't 'get it', so i've got to the stage where I think he is best just ignored.
That statement serves absolutely no purpose in helping the club progress or gain promotion, so it's not worth giving it any attention. It is all about him, not the club.
In Bowyer and Jackson we trust.

On Wilder
“He came close to joining us in the summer of 2016 when we selected him to be our manager but he decided to go to Sheffield United where he knew he would be welcomed by everybody”
Who wouldn’t have welcomed him to Charlton then Roly?

I actually think Roland should be allowed to make as many statements as possible.
The more statements he makes the more stupid he makes himself look.
Maximum exposure should be given to all he says.
Let him hang himself.15 -
"One last collective push to give us the best chance for promotion." No, you thick eegit, the best chance was in January before you sold our joint top scorer for £1m and refused to let Bowyer sign an adequate replacement. Don't give us that collective bullshit, we know you couldn't give a toss. I bet you had to look up who got promoted. Lauding Chris Wilder when your own manger has arguably performed better and is sitting here with days left on his contract. That was what Wilder was scared off, not the fact that the fan base hates you because you are a useless owner who doesn't care less about the club.26

Best ignored I think, let’s focus on the next three games.3

Why not congratulate the Norwich manager? Duchatelet is a deluded sad bastard and I would add to that pathetic. Mind you, I do think he is not right in the head so we probably ought to be sympathetic of that. What he has achieved in previous years suggests he may not have always had a screw loose! Bowyer is a gift horse for him and he hasn't agreed a contract with him yet. Fans were positive about Wilder, the report was pretty clear that Wilder wanted more autonomy than Duchatelet was willing to give. But I suspect the truth was we were guzumped by a club Wilder had more affinity with than us. Yes we missed out not getting him, but now we have found a gem of a manager, Duchatelet shows he doesn't get it. And I am pretty confident that with only a little backing, Bowyer would have got us automatic promotion.
I will also say this - Wilder has done a fantastic job and took Sheff Utd up playing an athletic but limited style. I recall in the draw they had at the Valley, they only had one player with high end ability. That is to his credit and he obviously supplemented that with better quality players since then. But Bowyer has got us playing brilliant football that is beyond what any other team can aspire to at our level. If Duchatelet had a functioning brain, he would adapt to the potential this stroke of luck has given him. But he didn't support Bowyer in January and can't tie him up now. He is a parody and totally ridiculous and this dig just bounces back to him. The same as his reaction to virtually everything other the last few years.8 -

Excellent post and great timing. Without it some may have temporarily forgotten just why we need the toad out of our club. What a cretin.15
-
Rolands sole aim is to hurt the fan base in retaliation for what has been done to him with such public humiliation
he will I’ll be over the moon when bowyer leaves (and he will leave ) he will be only happy when he leaves us the in complete disarray
to expect anything different is madness
preparation for the ultimate pain
promotion with bowyer only to be in the championship Karel Fraye reinstalled as mgr
