For fellow patriots

Maybe I'm going incredibly soft but I think every Englishman and woman should know the words to Jerusalem, and here they are

And did those feet in ancient time

Walk upon England’s mountains green:

And was the holy Lamb of God

On England’s pleasant pastures seen!

And did the countenance divine

Shine forth upon our clouded hills?

And was Jerusalem builded here,

Among these dark satanic mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold:

Bring me my Arrows of desire:

Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!

Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,

Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:

Till we have built Jerusalem,

In England’s green & pleasant Land.

"Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel, and the first instinct of the decent citizen" (Anti-patriots and the lefties never tell you that last bit).-Samuel Johnson
  • I love the song, but there is something in the words that always leaves me feeling a bit uncomfortable. I spose it's the God thing.
  • A poem by a mad socialist about the need to return to a rural pre-industrial England.

    I like it. : - )
