The Takeover Thread - Duchatelet Finally Sells (Jan 2020)

How long have these debts been around? Shouldn't they be unrecoverable after a certain period of time, if no correspondence has taken place? I was thinking around 6-7 years?
However, my understanding was that the money was due to be paid back should Charlton reach the Premier League, they have not, therefore, the debt can not be recovered at this stage anyway?0 -
If Bowyer doesn't get announced today is it safe to assume he's probably off?0
-
I know for a fact that the Aussies haven’t been. They’d like to keep Bowyer though (in the unlikely event etc etc)Airman Brown said:

So are you saying the new prospective owners are involved in the negotiations on Bowyers contract?Airman Brown said:
Indeed.Mal said:
Airman Brown, If a Take over was/is so close, would not any prospective new owner have a say in what contract is negotiated with Bowyer?Airman Brown said:Bowyer not signing a contract thus far has more to do with the negotiation being a shambles on the club side than the imminence of a takeover.0 -
I wouldn't say that, no.Braziliance said:If Bowyer doesn't get announced today is it safe to assume he's probably off?
it's obviously a pretty fluid environment at the moment.....0 -

I’d bite both hands and feet off for Dalman and Bowyer.Talal said:
Agreed but even if he did come here as manager I don't know why people are getting their knickers in a twist about it. As much as I want Bowyer to sign, we don't even know he's going to be here under RD let alone a new owner. The Red Robin said:The Warnock rumour was literally made up yet we're treating it as fact.
If someone said next season we'd have Dalman as owner and Warnock manager I'd bite their hands off.
what about your wang?
You’ve been well and truly tickled by the wang haven’t you @Arsenetatters5 -
Is no news good news?
Nothing at all from the club today
Keeping us well informed as normal0 -
Bowyer's family home is Sevenoaks was flooded this week by all the rain. If that isn't a sign to put it up for sale along with no progress in contract talks then i don't know what is!!0
-
The club should have started planning a few weeks ago. If we don't know who the manager is now it is a bloody disgrace. I suppose it only shows you how incompetent the owner is if you take the trouble to look. This has to be sorted now and should have been sorted long ago FFS!0

Well, if there’s nothing to report what do you want them to do.....make something up maybe?floydroadfaithfull said:Is no news good news?

I really believe we’re so close to being great again.
RD...fucking Charlton since January 2014.2 -
My knowledge of working in Belgium is that the business day finished about three hours ago, so doubt we’ll get much news today.1

Feels like we're never going to get any news.0

I think we need to plan another protest in Belgium. Roland is so bonkers he'll never sell. There's no shortage of interest apparently, but it all evaporates once it comes into contact with the cold hard unreality of Roland's valuation.
His heirs may be happy to have him increase his losses every year and piss away their inheritance on stubbornness, but we should at least go and ask them. I think we can get quite creative on this, comparing the money he saves on duck-taped shoes with how much he loses on Charlton every year.4 -
according to Dalman's profile, he owns CAFC .. someone is avin a larf

Can we establish and agree that anything on the Dalman Mehmet, Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic or Roland Duchatalet Wikipedia pages isn't necessarily completely reliable today?21

Nonsense.
Everything on the internet is true - I read a Tweet saying it is, so it must be.

Seems a lot of people on here are doing just that...just to pass the time maybe?1 -
Chatted to a chap on the Thameslink earlier. (he gave a name but I have since removed it from this post) and he seemed to know what he was talking about. Said he worked at Brighton in their media team... Haven't googled to verify.
He was sure that Bowyer has signed a pre-contract agreement that if Mehmet is the first buyer to complete before Bowyer's contract runs out, he'll renew his contract for 12 months.
If it's not Mehmet, we can say goodbye to Bow. At least according to this character anyway.
Something else he mentioned:
Bow has several other offers on the table, but is trying to be loyal to the club, but Duchatelet isn't making that easy with such an awful offer, whilst the other offer from CAFC would be competitive in the Championship.
Whether he's a bullshitter or not he was wearing a Brighton branded tracktop. But then loads do on that line, he could well be another WUM.0 -
Was there any reason you struck up a conversation with a stranger on a train?28

We were just talking footy as I made a comment about Stephens when we were sat across from one another, bit of chat about Stephens then he asked who I supported and it was like it was all queued up waiting to spill.
I will say he did seem a bit rough round the edges and though we were both going towards Brighton, I assume he was either a fan on a wind up or completely genuine.
Just thought I'd share it as I heard it from him... Just so I don't have to play the 'I heard this weeks ago, but kept quiet as I wasn't sure' kind of bollocks.
It also seemed fitting to Bow's "unusual contract" he received from Duchatelet.
