Ticket office to close 1pm on match days?
Comments
-
Based on the demand for the play offs when it was near impossible to get through by phone & the ticket office was closed.
You couldn't make it up.2 -
That's not going to work. There will be plenty of walk ups after 1300.1
-
5pm midweek closing as well.0
-
Very odd. What happens then if you forget or lose your season ticket, need a replacement ticket on the day and it's past 1pm?1
-
The OS also states:
89% of tickets bought for the club’s play-off final at Wembley were purchased online and that number was 83% for Charlton’s home leg semi-final against Doncaster Rovers
True, but wasn't it basically the only way you could get tickets for those two matches.
The 1pm matchday closure must be a typo error.

So no walk-ups at all allowed on a midweek match day after people finish work?
I know the old scroat and his lackey complain that fans customers cost him money but I'm sure Airman has the figures that show every bum on a seat contributes SOME money to the club.
Must be the only club in the world that actively make it difficult to come and watch the team0 -
Perhaps Meire has returned?
What next, no football to be played this season as there was clearly no demand for match day ticket purchases in the last month?1 -
Ha, nuts. Are there any other clubs in England that do this?1
-
Very bad idea. Very bad.0
-
Maybe it means that the main ticket office will be closing 2 hours before kick-offs,but you will still be able to purchase tickets from the additional booths which normally only open only on matchdays, the statement is very poorly worded & was this fully discussed at the fans forum?0

The matchday Saturday time was just for phonelines. It's now clarified on the OS7
-
Quite. Possibly they are trying to eliminate the casual staff used to sell tickets on matchdays as a cost saving but as a business proposition that’s insane.Covered End said:Based on the demand for the play offs when it was near impossible to get through by phone & the ticket office was closed.

So walk up sales between 1pm and kickoff are prohibited by the owner and management of Charlton Athletic Football Club.
I know that this is obvious, but I’m spelling it out because this decision is as incredible as it is reprehensible.

That would be a safety issue as the north stand ticket office can’t cope on its own.clive said:Maybe it means that the main ticket office will be closing 2 hours before kick-offs,but you will still be able to purchase tickets from the additional booths which normally only open only on matchdays, the statement is very poorly worded & was this fully discussed at the fans forum?0 -
It says "in person" sales between 10am and 4pm.catfordmorry said:So walk up sales between 1pm and kickoff are prohibited by the owner and management of Charlton Athletic Football Club.

The article has been amended. Ticket office open from 1000 till 1600 on Saturday match days.0
-
On a match Saturday: Phone lines close at 1pm. Walk-ups 10am - 4pm. What isn't mentioned is what the ticket office opening hours will be for an evening kick-off. Normal evening closing at 5pm. Would make a guess they'll stay open until 9pm.0
-
It says you can buy in person from 1-4 on match days. Don’t see the problem0

Fairly large typo!4

The opening hours for Charlton Athletic’s Ticket Office have been adjusted for the 2019/20 campaign to match demand.
Following the introduction of the club’s new online ticketing system at the start of the 2018/19 season, there has been a large increase in the percentage of tickets purchased online.
89% of tickets bought for the club’s play-off final at Wembley were purchased online and that number was 83% for Charlton’s home leg semi-final against Doncaster Rovers.
With an increase in supporters purchasing online, fans buying in-person and over the phone have reduced dramatically, especially on weekdays.
The ticket office have examined in-person purchasing trends and as a result have adjusted ticket office opening hours to the below, beginning Monday, July 14th:
Monday: 1pm-5pm
Tuesday: 9:30am-5pm
Wednesday: 9:30am-5pm
Thursday: Closed
Friday: 9:30am-5pm
Non-Match Saturday: Closed
Matchday Saturday: Phonelines 10am-1pm (in person 10am-4pm + 15 minutes after full-time)
Sunday: Closed
On the back of feedback from the Fans’ Forum, tickets going on sale for high demand games, will be made available at the same time whether a supporter be purchasing in-person, on the phone or online.

Actually it's 'proofreading' - all one word.0 -
15 minutes after full time seems a bit short, if there was a queue of people would they really close the shutters before they were all served?Nicholas said:The opening hours for Charlton Athletic’s Ticket Office have been adjusted for the 2019/20 campaign to match demand.

I think we all know the answer as to whether Roland would pay to have the ticket office left open a bit longer...killerandflash said:
