Jonathon Leko - Jan 2024: on loan at Burton (p14)

Was quality

I think it's pronounced Leko rather than Leeko, but the Peter Gabriel song Biko might make a good chant

liked the look of him today, he carries the ball really well and has great pace, definitely a threat. Thought his movement maybe left a bit to be desired today, looked like he wanted to spin and get in behind his man a lot today which is good obviously but i'd like to have seen him gone short for it a few times as well. sure this will improve as he settles in with the team though

He was ok and quick but suspect once Field, Aneke and the Brighton lad are ready he may well drop to the bench

I'm not sure. He brings a lot of pace and running at people which I don't know those others can necessarily replace, although those are also qualities useful to bring off the bench later on in a tight game. It may well depend on the opposition.

 Crickey, this lad is quick!

Should have no trouble catching the train home!

Seems to be pronounced "Leeko" by the commentator at the beginning of this video:

Interesting report about the West Brom young children Academy.
With Leko, Sam Field features also.

Edit: Looks made for adopting the old Leaburn chant ......."Leeeee-ko, Leeee-ko, Leeee-ko"

Judging by that tweet there’s no way Taylor’s head has gone. He’s one of us.

Had a decent game but not sure I’m as high on him yet as some others. Certainly not in Mavididi category for me - he was a special player (and he plays for Juventus!)

promising stuff, just need more end product

An assist on his debut is a good start.

I know it’s quite funny, but shows what a brilliant job Tracey does with the players helping them settle in, thank you Tracey!

Just out of interest, I hope he remembered to take his nectar card! 😆

That's Tracey's perk, getting all the reward club points herself

True, but it baffles me that a young footballer is incapable of going to buy groceries without having his hand held. Surely young players aren't SO cosseted that this everyday aspect of living is beyond them?

It’s what Uber eats was invented for, can’t wait to see Leko learns lasagne!

On the interview they did on Charlton Live , he comes across as a likeable lad, that will turn into a likeable man.

If we can work on his composure in front of goal we could have a triffic player on our hands, I hope he settles in well.
