Is it just an English thing and does anybody bother any more?
I go for a meal with a friend from time and their eating habits take the biscuit, in fact I have found it difficult sitting opposite them.
If it was a bloke I probably wouldn’t have an issue saying something but as it’s a women, she’s not English, I haven’t yet plucked up the courage.
Funnily enough she’s even said, some people have commented about it but she just laughs as if she doesn’t get the hint. Hence why I asked is it just an English thing.
Perhaps I should just avoid going out for a meal with her!
Any suggestions?

Her not being English gives you a good in. Just explain the history of etiquette and tell her that eating with your mouth open is definitely a no no, and that British people are offended by it unless they come from Deptford or Gillingham.6

Difficult one.
Try and be subtle and tell her about English etiquette and how strange we are - turn it around to be our fault.
If that doesn't work, just tell her that eating like that in England makes people assume she's available for business.

Everyone just needs to do what they want to do.
A couple of months back me and the wife were eating a meal in a pub garden.
A woman and her daughter sat on the table next to us and lit up a fag.
Its outside people can smoke, thier meal came out 20 minutes later.
Now whats that saying its better out than in.0 -

Boozing etiquette is more important.
If theres three or more of you in a pub you never ever leave a man stood on his own. If you want a piss or a fag you wait for your other mate to come back from the bar first.2 -
