My guess is that he said what people wanted to hear at the dinner to put him in a good light for the evening. It's fantastic news that Richard Murray has made a statement. Because, with statements, everyone can see exactly what's happening and when to expect a conclusion. And statements can never be misinterpreted. So if a statement has been issued we can rely on it, completely. Especially if the statement is anything to do with Richard Murray. Like this one, clarifying Roland's position with regards to the imminent takeover:In terms of detail he [Roland] will continue to be constrained by the terms of the non disclosure agreements which are in place but he is very conscious of the level of interest among Charlton fans about the issue of the club's ownership and the frustration many are feeling about the current situation.
