I thought it was great that Southall was talking to Gallen every time the camera was on him, not just watching the game. Also the statement he made. I have long thought that you give this management team the tools the sky is the limit.
Some managers aren’t great with lots of money - some work harder when operating as a wheeler dealer.

hopefully Gallen, Bows and co can work just as hard at getting h the right players on board and get us going somewhere organically whilst playing great football.

I don't want us singing about having loads of dosh. I remember Spurs fans doing that when they bought Paul Stewart. They sounded like wankers then and so would we now. We should just go about things quietly and with respect to other clubs, whilst remembering the last difficult decade.
Exactly. For a start Gullivan will be tempted to double the asking price for Josh Cullen in the window, when they hear that.. Any excuse, with that shower, to extract maximum wedge.
Josh just needs to see the season out & he's a free agent. Signs for cafc in the summer for free & gets decent signing on fee & wh get nothing.  (I think?)

I find all this situation too painful and frustrating now.

Our club is basically a blindman who is holding gold or millions of pounds.

We are extremely good....but owners are just constantly screwing us over ever since Curbs left.

I just hate Roland so much.

    Couple of days later 😉🙂🙂🙂🙂

He's 24 in April so dont think they'd get a Development Fee would they?
Not sure if they'd get it regardless though as he came through their Academy or whether its only for U23s

Cullen won’t be a free agent in the summer, as far as I know, West Ham have a clause in his current contract that they will activate and if he is not going to get in their team next season, they’ll sell him.
Maybe we can get him on a permanent in January. But don’t go expecting him to be available for nothing in the summer.

Apologies if this has been covered earlier in the thread, but does their purchase of the club include The Valley and the training ground? I’m assuming it does, but haven’t seen that stated anywhere.

@JamesSeed here you go  found this tweet from Louis Mendez as well

The Valley is included in the deal. Roland Duchatelet does not still own it. #cafc

According to my non Aussie source, the Yanks and the Aussies had a joint bid rejected a few days ago.

Should wait for Black Friday and re-try.
Now I know I remembered i'd posted this at some time , so I went back and found it , sad I know , but I was on page 2010 on October 25th (after yet another rumour fell on it's arse ). Proof if any was needed, that obviously the Saudi's have been listening to what the fans have been saying for sometime , or at least a month in any case and again proves that Charlton Life is indeed  the font of all wisdom and knowledge !

I think there is a lot of potential in Leko. I can see Bowyer sees him as a project.
  • After what seems like an eternity under RD, this seems a bit surreal at the moment. I guess that once the deal gets EFL approval and the new board set out their plans in detail, then it will really sink in that the nightmare of the last few years is finally over.

So at the moment I'm happy, but strangely not as happy as I imagined I would be. Not sure if that makes any sense...

I was elated when I first heard the news of a sale agreed subject to EFL approval and I still am.

i have put the champagne in the fridge but I haven’t opened it yet.

    Leko on a permanent?

    Now I'm worried.

Don’t get me wrong, he makes mistakes but he is not half as bad as what people make out on here. He is the only player we have at the club who can turn a defender on a sixpence! He will get better! He is still only young!

That's a bit how I feel, @L@Lazy_eye_metaphor, as do others.
Possibly this is one of the reasons why the atmosphere yesterday wasn't as expected.
  • Can’t believe people are turning down the prospect of Leko on a perm?! Yes he makes mistakes, but he’s got the most goal contributions in our whole team, has played with England all through the ranks and is only young too. There’s a lot of potential if Bowyer can sort out his decision making, and I believe he can definitely do that
Agreed, I don’t particularly rate him to be honest but signing him on a permanent makes sense. He shouldn’t cost that much, he has sell on value and it means we can get an extra loan in.

I'd be ok with Leko on a permanent, but I'd want him as the backup pace option to a proper striker

I thought the day would never come.

So relieved. Half-year season tickets will be on their way.

Clearly, what they uncovered during due diligence didn’t phase them. I just Hope Roland’s price gives them everything, lock stock and barrel debt free. Did I read somewhere that the former Directors debentures have now been cleared?
