  • Oh
And the other stuff comes from the site that must not be mentioned.
Quite sensible for some of them I thought. No idea if it's true.
    Mug believing that stuff.

For once, I would prefer a long, slow, boring wait for a "yes" from the EFL to a quick "yes".  I want to know that, once the EFL decision is made, it's been made properly, with due diligence and following an appropriately-thorough investigation.  That way, we will know the new owners are right for Charlton, instead of thinking it, as we did when Ducatelet took over.

Take your time, EFL.  But give us the right answer.

Haha! The EFL are a sack of shite. A slow boring yes won't mean anything except that they couldn't be arsed to authorise it earlier.

    I can - can you? ;-)

  • It’s looking similar to the takeover with the Spivs and Cash. Oh My God 🤔
  • Not if Nimer is seriously wealthy in his own right and the backing of a Sheik

  • Nimer on his own I reckon.
  • I think someone needs to update the title of this thread to “Sale of Charlton Confirmed (Pending EFL approval)”. It worries me.
Don't worry if it all goes tits up, my mega-millions jackpot tonight should be enough.

I imagine Nimer is wealthy enough on his own to bankroll a promotion contending side. If we ever secured promotion, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw significant investment from people higher up than Nimer. Who really cares though, Roland’s gone and that’s all that matters for the foreseeable future!
Man city have sold 23 per cent of the club to Chinese and USA investors. They got near £600m.If we reach the premier ship our club is worth a lot more then today's value.

    Wait.
I’ve just thought, if we allow Roland to leave now,
we may never ever see Marc Wilmotts as our manager....
At least we'll always have the memory of Russell Slade

    Yuk
  • Well, what was on offer originally was the redesignation of a significant slice of former industrial land on the peninsula for residential development, generating eye-watering profits, with the cheaper and more constrained site at The Valley used to provide the required social housing element. The price was Charlton becoming the anchor tenant of a multi-use arena built at Morden Wharf. That was what Jimenez and Cash were involved in and is the reason they were here.
Things have moved on since 2010 and the land availability on the peninsula is reduced, but at The Valley the issue is the high cost of - and practical and planning obstacles to - the development at the Jimmy Seed Stand end due to land and access issues.
Planning consent recently given for 8,500 homes on the Morden Wharf site.

Wasn't the multi-use arena deemed to be be an illusion as part of the scam that ended up with them in court?

The problem with The Valley is that the land behind the west stand was sold for housing. This may prevent another tier being added to that stand.
  • Its an unerring anticipation of Charlton snatching defeat from the jaws of victory that has conditioned us into a collective group of naysayers, doom mongers and wild fantasists talking billions and pulling stadiums on the Penninsular out if our arses!

    I'm not worried at all.

These people are very successful businessmen and their track record in commerce is laced with integrity.

I believe strongly that they already know the EFL will approved the takeover.
Hope your’re right, would make sense for them to have some indication before announcing on the official site.

Do I hear correctly that RM was a big player in securing the buyer and although not on the board will have a place in the Directors box at games.

Well done Richard. Come good again 😌
    That's us f***** then.
