I want to know that, once the EFL decision is made, it's been made properly, with due diligence and following an appropriately-thorough investigation. That way, we will know the new owners are right for Charlton, instead of thinking it, as we did when Ducatelet took over.
Take your time, EFL. But give us the right answer.11 -

Haha! The EFL are a sack of shite. A slow boring yes won't mean anything except that they couldn't be arsed to authorise it earlier.4 -

anyone not expecting pony owners who see us trickle our way along at best is greedy and living in dreamland, this is Charlton
It's not Roland so it's much better and if we end up in the shit some other pony owner can come along7 -
It’s looking similar to the takeover with the Spivs and Cash. Oh My God 🤔1
-
Not if Nimer is seriously wealthy in his own right and the backing of a Sheik0
-
It would be extraordinary if someone in Nimer’s position and status was to get involved in anything either dodgy or without intention of genuine success. One thing we can be certain of is that unlike Slater and Jiminez he is not a chancer and unlike Duchatelet he is not barking mad.I think we’re ok.36

Nimer on his own I reckon.

I imagine Nimer is wealthy enough on his own to bankroll a promotion contending side. If we ever secured promotion, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw significant investment from people higher up than Nimer. Who really cares though, Roland’s gone and that’s all that matters for the foreseeable future!9

I met him once, I think around the the time the Spivs took over. Deffo a Charlton fan.
He said one thing to me that I didn't like the sound of "Every bid will be a property play".
Having said that he is (or was) a property guy himself. And every property guy I have ever met seems to have the attitude that monetising property is more important even than procreation.
But then again, if these guys are the real deal ( by which I mean competitive funding at Championship level for the next 2 years) and Lee brought them to the table, then we all owe him a pint.
Things have moved on since 2010 and the land availability on the peninsula is reduced, but at The Valley the issue is the high cost of - and practical and planning obstacles to - the development at the Jimmy Seed Stand end due to land and access issues.7 -
Wait.I’ve just thought, if we allow Roland to leave now,
we may never ever see Marc Wilmotts as our manager....9 -

Am i the only one for whom elation at hearing the news last week has turned to a stomach knotting nervousness as we await confirmation?
It will almost be like last week again when the news comes through.14 - Sponsored links:

Wasn't the multi-use arena deemed to be be an illusion as part of the scam that ended up with them in court?
The problem with The Valley is that the land behind the west stand was sold for housing. This may prevent another tier being added to that stand.0 -
Its an unerring anticipation of Charlton snatching defeat from the jaws of victory that has conditioned us into a collective group of naysayers, doom mongers and wild fantasists talking billions and pulling stadiums on the Penninsular out if our arses!

It will almost be like last week again when the news comes through.I'm not worried at all. These people are very successful businessmen and their track record in commerce is laced with integrity.I believe strongly that they already know the EFL will approved the takeover.34 -
Do I hear correctly that RM was a big player in securing the buyer and although not on the board will have a place in the Directors box at games.
Well done Richard. Come good again 😌5 -

I think it's already done and dusted.
Either way even if the money isn't what people believed, we wanted Roland gone and that's that. If they stabilise us and make us a consistent mid table championship team that treats their fans, players and staff correctly then that will do me for the foreseeable future
