If the new owners are confirmed, Bowyer signs a new deal and it's announced that Taylor has signed a new 3 year deal we'd all be delighted. So not sure i get people saying "he can fuck off now" etc etc.
Also seen it said that people wouldn't mind him going, if Toney comes in. No way are we getting Toney as Peterborough want 10m+ for him. My guess is Toney will go in the summer to one of the 3 clubs relegated from the premier league or perhaps to Fulham if they don't go up and Mitrovic doesn't want another year in the championship.
But it's quite clear he wanted to go to Brentford at the end of the window and my gut feeling is he wants to go now.

His agent will be fully aware of what other clubs are willing to offer plus what other add ons would be lucrative to Lyle.
Our basic offer may well match others but Lyle will know If he joins Brentford as rumoured previously and currently sitting 4th, fires them to promotion he would be in for a substantial bonus with this. This may well be the difference in the offers and would massively influence his decision.
This hasn't stemmed from Lyle not doing what his paid it has stemmed from a club being poorly run by an inept regime.

All I will say is when ever I see Taylor's character criticised, I think back to when he spent time with that lady (sorry can't remember her name) who was in a hospice seriously ill with cancer.
He didn't have to do that and if he brought some happiness to a seriously ill lady in her final days he's OK in my eyes despite what he may post on line.13 -

If he wants away then so be it.
Toney will be a decent replacement!!
Fuck him let him go.2 -

100% agent talk to get him to stay with an improved contract. This always happens because it's their job!0

The fact that Bowyer came out and said himself it was a 'good' offer.
End of the season he'll be off I reckon. He has pissed me off a little bit with his social media posts etc. but reading some further posts on here I have no animosity and would never boo one of our own, players come and players go.

I don't blame him if he left for a pay rise and a club with better league standing. But a 29-year-old man posting cryptic posts on social media etc pushing for bites, gets a few then complains about their treatment is just weird. I don't agree with people giving him abuse but why even tempt them, he knows exactly what he is doing with his posts. Not just with his Charlton situation as well, his political posts were way OTT and every time he got a reaction which he wanted, he complained about "abuse".Its not hard, at that age to not post anything cryptic until its all sorted, we are not talking about an 18/19-year-old here. I think it shows a little lack of respect and stinks of attention-seeking.Remind me, did Joe Gomez, Lookman & Poyet post anything cryptic looking for reactions before their contract/transfer was sorted.. No, they didn't and all these players were under 21.Great player, a fantastic servant for the club and good luck to him whatever he does. I would be delighted if he signed, however, it's getting a little boring now and he needs to grow up a little.p.s I am in no way condoning some of the moronic people floating around on social media.

Losing your best players is never the route to progression on the pitch, surely we have learnt that by now. That said, I do wonder if Taylor will be much good in 2-3 years time. I think he is picking up an injury or two each season last couple of years which may be due to the physical way he plays.0

No.1 in South London said:EveshamAddick said:I wonder if this so called exclusive is actually just trying to get a few hits on the Londonnewsonline website.
Doesn’t say when the contract was offered so might be referring to the last time one was offered to him. Doesn’t seem credible that RD would be offering contracts now with the sale about to go through.
I heard a little while ago that he (through his agent) was offered 60% of what he was looking for and it was turned down by his agent.
Taylor can say that "HE" hasn't been offered a contract, but that doesn't mean that his agent wasn't.
Rich Cawley reported: "But Bowyer – speaking exclusively to the South London Press – said: “Lyle has been offered a contract and he declined it.
“It’s his choice if he wants to sign it or not.“We’ve offered him a good contract. Roland [Duchatelet] offered him what we think is a good contract.”
That won't be the same offer that Matt Southall of ESI has said he will make, when he said that it was a priority to tie Taylor down with a new contract.

I sincerely hope he stays, but, I bet if any one of us got offered a contract for £15k a week when we're on a third of that (maybe), then let's be honest, we'd jump at it. That, coupled with the fact he's on the other side of the hill with regard to his playing career, even if he goes on till he's 37, and that he's spent the majority of his career in the lower leagues, I wouldn't begrudge him a move at all.
I couldn't care less about the social media aspect of his conduct, it's what he does on the pitch. If he goes, then thanks for the memories, hope he goes on to do very well, except when he plays against us.

If I had been told by my agent that there are better offers being made than the current Charlton offer, I would not be signing the Charlton offer at the moment.
If you add to this that we should be taken over in the next few weeks and then Taylor is likely to get a better offer, he'd be a fool to sign today.6 -
He can go as far as I’m concerned coz let’s be honest, he won’t get in the team once we’ve signed Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe4

Can somebody kindly change the title of this thread please. It’s misleading.0

Which is why I’m surprised anyone is surprised by how he acts on social media.
If you don’t like how he acts, don’t follow him.
Some real strange people about.3 -

Why would Taylor accept an offer from Duchatelet when we are about to be taken over by a middle East Company. ?
Why would Duchatelet offer Taylor a new contract when he won't be here to pay it ?
Why when Lyle Taylor continued to play well in August despite missing out on a good deal at Brentford are some folk on here disrespected him ?
I understand the EFL being diligent on this take over but each day longer it takes could be a disaster for Cafc chances of staying in the championship.
If Cawley believes the offer from ESI will be similar (why ) then we better prepare for the worse because we won't find a like for like replacement for Lyle in a January window.
Only in the summer if still in Championship.
Ps. I heard Lyle say he doesn't watch football then a while after he said he would be a honest pundit if he got a TV gig !2 -
