Fabulous Five

Just a bit of fun - if the sale goes through and you could bring in 5 players to help pull us back up the league/turn us into a force to be reckoned with, who would you bring in?

I'm thinking realistic targets here. Ie Toney not Neymar etc.

Realistic you say? De Bruyne, Salah, Kane, Ramos, Mbappe.
  • No-one. Just like to see this team fit and functioning as they have produced some of the best charlton football for years and be nice to see how far they can go.

Holding, Bola from Arsenal.  Harry Arter, Reece Oxford, Ademola Lookman. Alas all mainly loan potential but Field, Kayal, Amos crocked, Cullen injured but with suitors, Gallagher could be only loanee in February.
  • Cullen West Ham
    Grant Hudds
    Ajayi West Brom
    Field West Brom
    Eze QPR
  • Definitely Toney, especially if Lyle stays.
  • I'd add a fit Kayal on a perm, if he's back in January.
  • Five players chosen by Gallen and Bowyer and no one else
  • Eberechi Eze
    Tom Cairney
    Jarrod Bowen
    Jayden Bogle
    Luke Shaw

  • Sponsored links:

  • Dack
James Justin (Loan from Leicester) OR Rico Henry
    Cullen Permanent
Toney or Gayle (Grant would never come back)
    Curtis Nelson

  • Sam Cosgrove from Aberdeen, although Leeds , Boro, Derby and stoke are all interested and closer to his home in Yorkshire.

would love to see Cullen sign a permanent deal but don’t think West Ham are ready to let him go just yet.

  • Nicky Ajose

    Anil Koc

    Christophe Lepoint

    Yohann Thuram-Ulien

    Piotr Parzyszek

  • Gallagher
    Cullen
    Cairney
    Jay Dasilva
    Helder Costa

  • Cullen
    Dan Burn
    Vladimir Coufal
    Lookman
    Toney
    plus....
Rasmus Ankersen - head of overseas recruitment at Brentford
  • I'm not sure now realistic Lookman is but I'd love him back.
  • Cullen - Toney - Rhodes - Dack - Nelson
  • I'd add a fit Kayal on a perm, if he's back in January.
Bit of advice - don't buy a CAFC shirt with his name on the back.
  • Cullen - Toney - Rhodes - Dack - Nelson
that's an interesting one, he never managed to carry his goalscoring form from hudds and blackburn on to Boro and the massives but he's still only 29 and i do believe that with the right club he could still score a lot of goals.

celtic are interested in him and he might feel that playing there with the likes of mcgregor and christie, and in europe, will give him a good shot at getting back into the Scotland squad.
  • Josh Cullen
    Rico Henry
    Ivan Toney
    Pontus Jansson
    Eddie Nketiah

I just don't know enough about players at other clubs these days to give names, but imho we need:

A right back who is quick and can attack and defend,
A left back who is quick and can attack and defend,
A centre back who is mobile and aerially dominant,
A defensive midfielder (I liked to look of Field when he was fit),
A striker who is quick, can beat a man, and finish. Someone in the Karlan Grant mould.

I'd also be more than delighted with Cullen joining permanently. I'm sure Toney would be great too but I think he'll be too expensive.

Think it would be worthwhile having an experienced Striker in the team - Reckon he's lost his scoring touch because of the way his teams after Blackburn have played... i.e. He's always had the big man to play alongside (Novak or Graham) so think he'd do well with either Taylor or Toney
  • Whats Jay Da Silva up to these days?
is he injured at Bristol City?
