just hope it isn't a draw!2

It'd be typical of us that we put in a battling performance against West Brom's reserves and earned ourselves a replay.lancashire lad said:just hope it isn't a draw!

Well probably get a f******* replay.EveshamAddick said:Given we don’t want a cup run, we’ll probably win this.Though I did dream last night we lost 0-4.0 -

Given what's going on at the club, this is possibly the most irrelevant fixture since the bad old days when we used to play MK Dons away at the concrete cow stadium on a wet Tuesday evening in the preliminary round of the the autochecker trade, paint drying cup.

I was talking to my son about the new ownership and why you can make a strong argument why we shouldn't now even be worried about relegation. If you take that view, the FA cup might be important given that we are so behind the play off places after our injury catastrophe (crisis doesn't seem to be a big enough word). Then it became clear that even if we wanted to, we can't play more than a B team today. However, I think we have a chance as WBA will have no interest in the competition whatsoever this season.0

Just been looking at West Brom fans' forum and they don't seem too keen on a cup run because of their league position. Also advocating wholesale changes to the team because of the risk of injury. Sound familiar?
Should make for an interesting (or not) game.1 -

I don't know about that, it was December, we had depleted numbers, and not a lot of options on a free. Got a former Premier League player and Welsh international. One month contract. Low risk, high reward. Didn't work out.EveshamAddick said:The fact that Bowyer doesn’t know when Ledley’s contract ends suggests to me this was an RD/ Tommy D acquisition that Bowyer didn’t want.
The fact that Bowyer doesn't know when his contract ends indicates that he has no desire to keep him, which, you could have guessed based on how often he's played.
How I think we'll line up
........ ........AMB
Wiredu Deji Sarr Purrington Doughty
............... Maloney
.........Morgan...... Vennings
............ Davison Green
Obviously a complete guess

Doughty is cup tied.
My guess-
AMB
Solly Oshilaja Sarr Stevenson
Morgan
Ledley Vennings
Maloney
Green Davison

We're going to get tonked.
Charlton 1-5 WBA
Hopefully it will be a learning experience for some of the youngsters. Ideally we'd be able to blend some of the youngsters with some more experienced players, but we just don't have an experienced players fit who aren't at serious risk of injury.0 -

No idea why Morgan is being put into people's 11 as a DCM. It's the part of his game that he's lacking.0

This all feels a bit unreal, on my way to my first game at The Valley since January 2016. Going to leave my black and white scarf with Sam, accompanied by a short message: "You're gone, I'm still here."
Thanks again to everyone who fought so hard so that I could have this moment. We won. Charlton won.7 -

Surely, for Sam Bartram’s statue to be given that message it can’t be gone and will still have to be there as well ?0 -

Rest every player who might play in next two games and fill a side with whatever is left. Players like Greene needing minutes, give them the last half hour.
pure training and limitation exercise today imo4 -
Saying that, will probably be the most disastrous outcome. A draw1

We don't have the spare players to do that...AFKABartram said:Rest every player who might play in next two games and fill a side with whatever is left. Players like Greene needing minutes, give them the last half hour.

It was a third round tie against West Brom a decade or so ago that persuaded me that the FA cup was dying on its arse and that I was wasting my time attending. This was in the days where we still opened the full stadium and the third round was still trying to pretend that it was a big thing. We sat in a three quarters empty stadium watching two teams with lots of changes from the normal eleven with zero atmosphere. It was a 1-1 draw with Zheng Zhi scoring for us and a very young and untried Ishmael Miller responding. An utter non event and I have not been back at an FA cup tie since. Hope for those who attend that you get something out of it but I’m afraid that my two wishes are for no important member of the first team to be anywhere near the stadium (fat chance) and for a comfortable defeat without being embarrassed. Someone should be instructed to score an own goal if we are level in injury time. Perhaps Naby and Dillon could recreate their little Wembley pastiche (notwithstanding the hope that neither are playing).0

From what i've read, Henry is supposed to be one of the best talents in the youth team. Was it him that scored that goal from the half way line earlier in the season?0
