Great point.Another point closer to safety.
Doughty will be one hell of a player. 20 times better than Purr.
THAT tackle by Nabby, wow.
For me, dont really get the major plusses re Pratley - yes, he might get his foot in, but so many times WBA were able to get behind him in the hole because he is not quick enough to cover that area.
But, overall, a cracking point, with 3/4 players out. Whatever the team, we seem to get a consistent performance from LB's teams, and never beaten by 3/4 goals.
2. Completely agree. He's massively overrated, but did play well today up to the last 15. Best thing he did today was to get in people's heads.3 -
Great performance, showed so much spirit to fight back twice. 110% from everyone once again.
Anybody see how quick Matt Southall reacted when we started chanting ‘Southall give us a wave’.... he loved it haha brilliant.7 -
Man of the match in the centre circle
I nicked everyone’s cards and voted for him

Great game, could of nick it. A special word for the ref. C@nt10

Davison was brilliant - caused their defence problems all game, always got in front of defenders and won many a free kick. Plus a poacher's goal. This guy was playing for Enfield in June. Amazing find.11

Bowyer.
To get that tune out of those players in this situation.
Make it a six year contract.1 -
King's of the Desmonds, I make that 8 for us this season0

This was an embarrassing post on the match thread before the game started and looks even more foolish now. The lad put in some shift and fully deserved his goal.4 -
Really impressed with Davison today, incredibly strong and physical for a kid, and so pleased he got a goal
Far more impressive than Hemed10 -

I have been informed that both of our goals came within approximately one minute of their supporters fart arseing around with the ball.
Karma.34 -
Song for Pratley, he deserves itDarren Pratley..Darren Pratley.. he wins the ball back, his 34 and he doesn't like the palace..0

Think it’s massively unfair to say Pratley is overrated. We all know what he brings to the team, and I think most would agree he’s not the best footballer in the team. But his niggling and getting in their heads is just as important as what the more capable players in the team do when on the ball.
He was just as important (arguably more) today as any other player out there.20 -

Davison will be an excellent 2/3/4 choice striker, especially with that work rate and growing eye for goal.
No point writing as list when all fully fit as that doesn't happen.1 -

That goal has been coming for Davison. Thrown in at the deep end he has worked tirelessly and really rattled West Brom today. He got his reward.
As for Hemed, he just needs a run of games.
Very encouraging to see Williams and JFC, Hemed back. Get Cullen, Taylor and Bonne back and we are up and running. That's without any new signings.11 -
Fantastic game that. You can never fault the effort of a Lee Bowyer team. Does he get every decision right, nope, but we have a special manager, who is getting every inch of ability out of these players.
My one bit of criticism, and I said this in the match thread, we must be the only football team ever who when we have a throw in its a negative for us.2 -

I can understand why they did not rush to make signings for the sake of them last week.1

Good result. Atmosphere OK, but not a wow game.
Forster Caskey made a difference. He could be some player for Charlton if his injury has not damaged him too much and Bowyer stays.4 -
With the exception of a drowsy 15 minutes after the break, that was a magnificent performance from a makeshift side. I was really pleased for Davison and Lockyer and like the look of Green. Most of all though I was impressed with Pratley who was a real life Captain Marvel.
West Brom are a top side, which ain't bad going for a team whose sport of preference is tag-team wrestling, and yet at no point did this look a mismatch. The Baggies would be useless at playing rummy, the way collected cards was more reminiscent of a bunch of excitable 8 year olds with their first ever Panini books. Looks can be deceiving though, because, under the tutelage of an ever cynical Bilic, they very carefully shared them amongst themselves so that they never saw red. To my eyes they well overdid it. Referee Gillett never looked like he was going to take his responsibilities for fairness or player safety seriously and so the most the midlanders got was a Gillett jaune, not a well deserved Gillett rouge.
It was great being back at The Valley with both my sons, and great too to bump into several old friends, a couple of Lifers amongst them. Best though was seeing the real spirit this young team has got.18 -
So, so special to be back at The Valley for a league game for the first time after boycotting for over three years. I had to wipe away a few tears and looking over to see a packed Covered End with a cracking atmosphere made me teary-eyed quite often. Sure there were a few things to improve on but the team, cobbled together without any real tactical rhyme or structure, fought so hard for a well-deserved point. A very happy and proud Charlton fan tonight.

I'm happy. 1-1 against league leaders with the promise of signings and players returning from injury bodes well.1
