I really shouldn't come on this forum pissed. Or Facebook either.
Or the internet at all, really.

The constant tagging of taylor and southall by some of our fans is beyond embarrassing 20+ year olds harassing a chairman ffs

If he’s injured fair play if he’s not then have the respect to tell the fans and let him go - no point him being here if he’s not playing

Footballers have rubbish taste in music these days, I preferred it when they all just listened to Lionel Richie

Seem's it was Bristol City - "players offered in exchange" one being Kasey Palmer.

Odd people making up "spoke to Gallen on the train" rumours about Glenn Murray

Odd that people would believe that. Why is the director of football going to reveal our transfer activity to randoms on a train?

Palmer is a far better quality player than i expected considering the "Ridiculous" comment - he must be worth a fair few million.

Yes, maybe it was Patsy Palmer they offered. Kasey Palmer has bags of potential.

He's so discreet. He clearly is sending us the message that he wants to feel our hatred and conjecture that he must want out and has never loved us.

Yeah play through your injury or do one... Seriously... If he is injured, which is entirely possible posts like this are bloody stupid.

Just noticed I missed your response. Alcohol = bad, definitely avoid internet when pissed.

Patsy Palmer is a much better player than her dad Carlton.

No chance they've offered Casey Palmer for Taylor, if they have I'd take it

I hope Lyle Taylor baby doesn’t read all this negative crap. He is a great player and I am sure he will be donning a Charlton jersey as soon as he is fit enough to do so. Up the Addicks!

Starting to believe it then. Swap lyle for kasey and pay them £500k for the pleasure. Sounds about right.

For good order, I mean if he doesn't sign a new contract. Id rather keep him if he wants to be here

Depends what sort of wages Palmer would want.
  • Probably a loan swap.  i.e. we loan Palmer 'till the end of the season and they pick up Taylor on a free.

That would push it into ridiculous territory.

I sort of hover on here to check if we are signing anyone, but it's tough. People complaining about Lyle feigning an injury when they haven't a clue whether he's injured or not. Those elsewhere who have decided that ESI have less money than Duchatalet, after we put in a bid and had it accepted for the Peterborough lad. I get it - we urgently need players in give our injury crisis. But from there to the pathetic wailing and abuse of all and sundry at the club is a real view over the abyss. I'd say about 40% of our fans (or 85% of those who post on Charlton forums) need to take a lot less sugar, and get on with their lives. Honestly guys, relax a lot. Not every club in the league has the Duchatalet 'give it away' attitude to their players when a bid comes in - some like to keep decent players if they can.

Bristol city offer the Chelsea reject who they paid 3.5 million for in exchange for Lyle Taylor, a proven success and the most Talismanic striker since Yann for CAFC.

Casey Palmer rejected Charlton as a youngster, so we now get a player who isn't good enough for City but will  be fine for Cafc.
Get Palmer on loan but exchange for Taylor,
    would be crazy.
No crap owner was ever going to stop me watching Charlton or I would have quit when Michael Gliksten was the apathetic owner and I saw 10 of my favourite players leave. If Lyle goes in this window then my time may be up. I wish ESI all the best with their "model" but I can't understand it at present. If you have an emergency, you deal with it; The five year plan doesn't get past the first year if you sleepwalk into relegation.
If Taylor goes to the Premier, then I could accept that in the Summer on a free but to Bristol city now ; that would just reflect we have no ambition.
Yann Kermorgant played his best football from 30 to 33. and so will Taylor, I hope its for Cafc, but it look highly unlikely past this summer as our budget still reflects a League 1 club.

This is no disrespect to Lee and Steve but if we end up with their 3rd, 4th or 5th choices because we have a rigid wage structure then we will emulate Rotherham who were in the Playoffs two years running and because they were the lowest paid team in the Championship just failed to stay up.

Ps I'm aware we have turned down City but while Taylor hasn't signed a contract then a 4 million bid from a desperate bottom 4 premier could clinch the deal on the 30th and then we have 24hrs to pay over the top for an inferior replacement

    To the tune of?

If you're reading this Lyle, there is still definitely plenty of love out there for you.....

...but we're too shy to show it in words on here ( especially as most Lifers are male.)

Get yourself fit, back in the team , do what you do best and see.

Anything Fanny can do to help, just ask.

I love Lyle.  Mrs Grumpy loves Lyle (slightly too much for my liking) He is a  Charlton legend already.  We know this to be true. The rest is jealousy, fear and young men on social media,  living with their parents who need a girlfriend.
