  • So much negativity on this site it's unreal. Even people suggesting Roland is a better option.

Take a good long look at yourselves, yes it looks tough right now I firmly believe we are on our way back from this injury crisis and will push back up the table.

The players that will join us in the next 3 days will further strengthen the squad and we will re build in the summer, would you rather still have Roland?

If so you need your bumps read.

    Wouldn't want Roland back.

We are in trouble. That's not negativity.

Every mountain is climbable with the right support team and equipment 😂😉

I'm almost praying we can get that right support team in, but my optimism is teetering I admit. I really can't complain until we have seen the window close though..
Hope to fuck you are right.

I'm so glad ESI decided that it was so important to get the takeover done this month so they could strengthen the team that actually buying The Valley & Sparrows Lane was put to one side.

    Working well that one........
Jesus Christ, you don’t stop. I’ve never come across anyone as negative and pessimistic about anything and everything. I think we could sign Messi and you’d say he’s on the wrong side of 30, what’s he ever done in England etc.

Judge them after the window and trust Bowyer to get the best out of a squad that’s just started to get back together properly.

You’re more than entitled to your opinion, but for once I’d like to read something even slightly positive. Please.
Sorry mate I've had to lol! this!!
You gotta laugh, otherwise I think you’ll probably cry!

A win and a draw to the good. But yeah we need some signings and I'm starting to doubt my eternal optimism will hold.
But we have to play Wigan, so lose that and we are a draw to the good. Luton won too. Momentum is everything in football and we have none.
Whilst I can’t sit here and say we’re buzzing with momentum. To say we have none isn’t quite true. Our last three home games we’ve beaten Bristol City and drawn to West Brom and Fulham (where we kept our first clean sheet in ages). Now it’s not enough to say all is good obviously but it does suggest a turning of the tide.

Our best players are all returning, and with a full strength squad and our manager, I’d still back us over the three below us any day of the week.

Still desperately want ESI to help Bowyer out though!

If we don’t bring anyone in, we must keep Taylor.

We have to bring at least 2 in that can ease the pressure off the youth boys even as back up to returning injured players like Field.

A centre midfielder is a must for me. Cullen, although the absolute nuts, is just a kid himself really, he needs that bit of quality next to him.

I wonder how Lee and Lyle's chat went.
"Stay till the summer and walk away and then treble you salary"
" I would stay here if they got near to the Brentford wage offer"
" Matt will only let you go for a silly money offer"
" How much is silly money ?"
"Fucked if I know but I need you, the fans need you and you could be a mega hero here"
    " My answer Lee is...

I'm sure that Cawley said we offered to match Brentford's wage offer while Rolly was still pulling the strings.
  • Only just seen the results and league table.
    Very sobering.

Oh well this agony of a window will be over in less than 72 hours.

Hope we get Madison, and a striker at least.

    That can't be correct ?
Lee Bowyer said  it was a life changing offer from Brentford and that's why Taylor was upset for a couple of days, no way did we match it ?

Find something positive then & post it. I'm only saying it as it is.

If ESI had signed up Taylor & Cullen (as they said was one of the first things they wanted to do) as well as strengthening the team (as they said was the reason why they rushed through the takeover.......so much in fact they lied to us (until it was wormed out of them) about actually owning the ground) then I'd be only too happy. But they haven't. I have no idea what you do for a living but in my job if I tell a client I'm going to do something, I do it. If I tell them half truths & also go back on my word I dont expect to get praised for it.

Its always best not to over promise & then under deliver.

    Last 3 days.
The January window is the false window,
Only for teams who have an injury wracked squad and teams, who want to give their side a boost because they in the bottom Six or teams in top 7 who may be after some reinforcements.

Yes we qualify on 2 accounts

ESI have yet to undeliver on transfers. The window is not yet closed.

We signed about five players in the last two days of the summer window.

Reckon we’ll get Maddison, the Norwich striker and Ollie Clark from BR.
If Lyle goes then we’ll buy the Rovers striker too.

I've said all along that most loans/transfers in January take place on the last 2 days.
The reason is because many clubs and players do not make a decision before then.
They wait as long as possible to see what options they have.

Even if we go back tomorrow with increased offers, any players who agree deals still have to come for a medical and to sign the contract.

We may make signings tomorrow, but I still think they are more likely on the last 2 days.

    My hope is:

    Morrison on perm,
    Idah on loan
The Liverpool lad on loan with an option to buy
    One large, strong, quality CB

The Liverpool kid is out of contract at the end of the season I believe.

This came after the Brentford offer and subsequent Bowyer quote. I did read it somewhere within the last three weeks, would have been a link through this site.

Gallen said you need to have a list of 10 players to bring in 3. I reckon we are currently on No's 8,9 & 10. By Thursday we'll be up to 11, 12 & 13.

At least  during the classic Roland transfer windows there was crazy speculation and unrealistic expectation before nothing happened.

Well we’ve been after him for years , would put a marker down that ESI have real money and mean business .
Currently playing in Oz for Melbourne City , although at 32 he probably doesn’t fit this well oiled model of ours .
