Dont forget Erhun was practically ready to sign this time last year yet the deal fell through because Bolton didnt get their own replacement in
Id be shocked if events like that arent the reason for the slow activityI’ll hold my hands up and say I was wrong and impatient if Southall pulls it out the bag and gets 3/4 top signings because that’s what we need.
The only signings being made are where clubs are turning loans into permanent transfers
Admittedly a lot easier for a side top of the table to make signings than one that is 4th from bottom though.
Yes they have parachute money (but then aren't we "f88king rich now?") but it shows that struggling clubs can also bring in players early.6 -

All these players we are now linked with since the Madison rumours are not the players that we need to kept us up at this stage of the season0

Has anyone mentioned FFP yet?
I understand that as long as the commercial revenue remains low (which it will be), Charlton can't just go splash the cash. Otherwise, breach FFP rules for spending beyond your (perceived) means and risk points deductions.
I'd prefer stability and long-term sustainability, thanks. Isn't that what we're being promised?
It's that or find some way around it in the long run. The Emirates Valley, anyone?
If anyone comes in, it's because they're deemed enough of a decent fit for the wages and fee. It won't be anyone glamorous, but the management have previous. For the most part, they've got signings right.

“So harsh on Adam but he is in my thoughts and we have created some space for him to allow Dennis Srbeny to go. At 18, he is the third striker at Premier League level. Not a bad position to be in. I am happy with him. He is a great lad.”
Would they allow their 3rd choice striker to go out on loan?

But Cawley has already confirmed this month that our issues arent because of FFP at the current time0 -

I can hear it now...."We've spent £5 million this Transfer window by not letting Lyle go."1 -

"Birmingham City have been unable to reach an agreement with Peterborough United for attacking midfielder Marcus Maddison."

"Down to 2 clubs now for him. Not Birmingham I’m afraid." according to Boro chairman.
Still in it, hopefully.1 -

Birmingham - possible points reduction
Posh - play off position.
Might be now that Maddison fancies staying where he is until the end of the season & then see which division the teams are in.
I dont believe that Peterborough wont play him if he doesnt leave. Too much of a gamble.

Bow on now. Says its important to keep Taylor and 'hopeful' of some signings before the transfer window closes. Thats about it
5 -
Hopeful we can bring in few bodies. Obvious to see we are short. Importnat we keep lyle. Mentions it 2/3 timesAware of interest in Lyle.0
-
