Do we know WHO Matt Southall used to be a footie agent for? Let's also remember he is new to this role and acting an agent rather than a CEO could be what Bows is hinting at.
Southall used to have a directorship at a hair dressing and beauty business, 'Live Lusso Aesthetics',  the company was dissolved in April 2019..  ((:>) … https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10700280
Was he not best mates with Kieron Richardson and got into being an agent that way. As I said would be interesting to find out what players he represented
perhaps he was the agent for a few crimpers .. the 'football agent' business is so rife with hangers on and chancers, but I am sure Southall was/is skweeky clean .. he could have had interests in the 'leg' of a few footballers .. rather as syndicate members own a hoof or two in a few racehorses

Reading that article from Bows I can only conclude that ESI have no money . Why else would he say we are relying on favours?
or not willing to give money this window or for only for players that fit the mould of young to be sold on at a profit?
Any evidence so far they actually have cash?
Fit and proper test demands evidence of funds and to run a club.

But that doesn't mean they'll be willing to spunk it all away.
If the club cost £1 and this season has a break even budget (the 6+6 forecast probably shows a profit) how much funds do you need evidence of?

We allowed to air negativity yet, that article is shite news and I’m not buying into the “bluffing” argument.

If this mob had any dosh, even a reasonable amount to spunk, we’d have JCH and Taylor up top come Saturday, a decent replacement for Gallagher, and the centre half cover with no one leaving, with the rock bottom wage bill we already have, that is certainly not an unreasonable expectation.  Bored already, post Barnsley meltdown incoming.

I believe it's supposed to cover years rather than a year.
  • Huge step up for Doherty if he arrives.
he played in league one last year and performed very well by all accounts. In that respect no different to Phillips, Lockyer, Taylor, Cullen etc who stepped up and less of a step than Bonne and the youngster who have had to come in.
Tongue in cheek remark about the Scottish premiership.

Mr Southall prioritised signing up Bowyer and Lyle and expressed a desire to sign Cullen on a permanent move.

They are still the key to survival this season.  Rangers reserves and talented youngsters from Norwich are almost irrelevant to that task.

33.3 per cent success so far..

    To me Taylor represents winning.
I don't know the stats, but would love to know the average number of points we win with him in the side, versus without him.

So you run the same budget for the next 2 years?

The proof of funds prove nothing either way.

I hope the favours comment relates to clubs being reluctant to sell players in January, so we're forced into the loan market. I hope.

Lee Bowyer has talked again about the importance of Charlton holding on to all of their current squad – as he still hopes for arrivals before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

The Addicks have made an offer for Bristol Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris but there are fears that could be as a replacement for Lyle Taylor.

Taylor has been the subject of interest from Bristol City in this transfer window and Brentford – who pushed hard for a summer deal – also still thought to be in the frame for the 29-year-old.

Bowyer, when asked about a move for Clarke-Harris, said: “It’s unfair to talk about other players but I can tell you now that we haven’t made a million-pound bid for anyone.

“We’re in talks with people and we’re relying on help. That’s the be-all and end-all, we’re relying on people doing us favours.

“We are trying, we’re trying to get things over the line.

“We need to bring bodies through the door. We are two players down from when the window opened – we need to bring at least two to bring us even.

“We need to strengthen and bring bodies through the door because all the teams around us are strengthening and we’re not.

“It’s not even just me, the players want help. The players want bodies through the door as well.

“We need to add to the squad, not deplete it. We need to keep people like Lyle – he is massive for us.”

Are we sure Roland has gone?

"I sometimes think we are part of a computer simulation being played by Crystal Palace fans.

We are certainly being played !

Apologies if others have already posted this, but I find it quite alarming:

I wonder what has happened since the press conference. SG said he have put in 3 bids for Perm players.... Not long to go!
  • I don't buy the optimism anymore, maybe a few weeks ago but not now, too many things aren't adding up with this lot. Out of the frying pan and into the fire springs to mind.

Of course ESI have money. They just paid £50 mill for our football club!

My take on it is that Agents know this and are asking silly money for their players hence we’ve now turned our attention to the loan market. That plus the fact that our current position in the Championship is putting players off joining us.
I don't think anybody thinks that's true now do they?

Just under 40 hours remaining before we find out whether or not ESI are prepared to commit footballing suicide by selling our best chance to avoid relegation. My season ticket for 2020-2021 is dependent on that decision.
Agree, ESI have a fantastic opportunity to get 20k crowds for the rest of this season,
to unite the fan base and propel the club towards being an established Championship club. A small step forward is acceptable, A giant leap backwards isn't.

Shame there appears a lot of dependency on whether people go with what signings we make, but hey ho
No, blindly following a team is for when you're a child. When people have families and potentially spend £1000s a season attending games, you want to make sure this isn't a repeat of the last 5 years.
That isn't football mate. You follow your team through thick and thin.

Imagine the meltdown Saturday if we lose Tayler, no incomings & lose to Barnsley!
Can’t understand why ESI rushed through this deal in time for the transfer window! Going to get pelters!!!!!
