Imagine the meltdown Saturday if we lose Tayler, no incomings & lose to Barnsley!
Can’t understand why ESI rushed through this deal to rush through in time for the transfer window! Going to get pelters!!!!!
This is the baffling part. If we do end up losing Taylor and don't bring in any replacements for Kayal, Gallagher, etc. then they would've been better off waiting until after the transfer window so that Roland could've taken the flack.

Reading that article from Bows I can only conclude that ESI have no money . Why else would he say we are relying on favours?
Of course ESI have money. They just paid £50 mill for our football club!

My take on it is that Agents know this and are asking silly money for their players hence we’ve now turned our attention to the loan market. That plus the fact that our current position in the Championship is putting players off joining us.
I don't think anybody thinks that's true now do they?
    James, should it read:
ESI will pay 50 million in six months time when they find investors from the UAE.
    (Or any gulf states)

Would @NL_Addick and @RodneyCharltonTrotta like to reply to Our Manager's latest words or is he just a bed wetter !

Come back @MuttleyCAFC your fears and mine from early this month are coming to fruition.
Leave it out fella. We all want the best for our club. Sniping at fellow fans on forums is not constructive.

My comment in response to your little pop has obviously riled you for some reason but just let it go mate as no offence at you was meant when it was posted off the cuff.
I have been on here nearly 5 years and take the usual banter, that's why I was surprised with you using my quote and digging me out. I just want your opinion now on Lee's comments. If you don't have a comment fair enough, and we move on.
Rubbish! It's more than five years ;-)

I take the comment 'relying on favours' to mean we're depending on clubs agreeing to loan us certain players or accept late deals.

    I don't see it as a negative comment...........yet.
It's impossible to read that Cawley piece without thinking that Bowyer is sounding negative/ isn't it?

    To me Taylor represents winning.
I don't know the stats, but would love to know the average number of points we win with him in the side, versus without him.
Probably the same, or worse, than Cullen.
I was talking about Taylor because there's a chance we'll lose him.

I think Bowyer should stop being a fucking pussy, man up, and not wet the bed.

Someone needs to tell him that all deadline day deals don't happen until the last 20 minutes and once one club does someone a favour a domino effect will kick in.

    Etc etc

    -  My Expectations.

    - ESI's transfer dealings thus far.
  • So Cawley is adamant that Clarke-Harris would be a Taylor replacement. You can kinda see the logic, sell Taylor for a couple of Million and invest it in a 25 year old who scored 20 in his last 29 league appearances on a 3 year deal. Or lose Taylor in the summer and lose that £2m.
Cawley is a journo reporting what he hears, he’s adamant what he’s heard, not adamant he knows what’s going to happen. Jesus get a grip.

Didn't say he was right, just said you could see some logic in there, I like every other Charlton fan would prefer both.

One thing is for absolute certain, we didn't delay the Barnsley game to prepare with new players. Was a good idea but that's that
  • Get a grip, your embarrassing yourselves. The January transfer window is notoriously difficult. So many deals are done at the last minute. I suggest you all go back to doing your jobs, stop all this negative claptrap and let LB SG and MS get on with theirs!

This has the potential to be the most unnecessary relegation, if we brought in 3-5 solid players I wouldn’t even be worried about it and would be looking up the table but right now im getting anxious and annoyed and I know my group chat of pals are to.
  • We fecking rich ------ do fuc k off

ESI using Rolands Poundland card and his strategy

Only thing that's changed is they brought in a new PR guy
Buying cheap and selling on has always been our strategy. Why should that change, we aren’t Real Madrid.

If, and I appreciate that it is an if at this stage he, we do sign the best of league 1 and develop slowly, I’ll be happy. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this approach has worked for Brentford. Stoke spend big and where has that got them.

esi are not using Roland’s strategy. Bowyer isn’t being told who to pick and we are making bids for players. 2 differences for you as a starter

Wouldn't be surprised if they don't do a press conference because they're busy trying to get transfers over the line. That's my guess anyway.

We don’t know what’s going to happen in the next 36 hours but any judgement on ESI over the weekend could (or should) only be an interim assessment. I share concerns about whether they really have the funding to compete in the Championship but equally understand that January is not the best time to be doing any more than patching the gaps.

Failure to do so will weaken our chances of avoiding relegation. Selling Lyle will damage those chances immeasurably. So let’s hope they can pull a few rabbits out of their hats.

But the real judgement will come at the end of August. If ESI have not by then substantially improved the starting eleven and the squad, if they have not completed on the deal to acquire the freehold of the Valley and Sparrows Lane, and if they have not made a start on the development of the academy - then we’ll know it was all just PR spin.

All we can do for now is wait, and hope.

Maybe they are holding back the press conference to announce a player or two?

After the window 'slams shut' I am behind a straightforward sporting/footballing relegation fight with whatever resources we have left.
We have to deal with what we have and the game by game challenges, not bemoan what we haven't got.
It matters that we don't run away, shaved heads, cold baths, steely focus and resilience is called for.
Stay up on goal differences if we have to or if we can.

Is that comment addressed to Lee Bowyer ?
Because our comments are just views on a football forum with the usual good, the bad and the ugly. No one is embarrassing themselves.(not even the blind optimists) I just hope Matt Southall isn't embarrassed by his comment " we had to get in early as the window opened so we could help Lee"

If we lose Taylor and do not get anyone else over the line, HE should cancel that visit on Saturday

When was Bowye r told who to pick by The Rat? Chris Powell was.

We made bids for players with The Rat, Igor cost well over a million.

I'll be there even if we go down but at the moment I see ESI as being totally out of their depth and floundering about with NO MONEY but six months to find it. How the fuc k they do that if we go down is the big worry.

Roland ain't gone he is our fuckin g landlord !!

Always feel sad when I think of Charlton fans accepting a lowly status. Charlton were one of the biggest clubs in the country for decades. No reason why it couldn't happen again.
