Really don’t get why we’re not going all out for Maddison at this point. He’s exactly what we need
Seems like all out for Maddison would have got you a loan deal, and an expensive one at that.3 -
Skybet are tossers then, I was gonna spend it all on snacks for the climax of deadline day5

I'm pretty sure McAnthony would have only done a loan with an obligation to buy. Letting Hull put tge transfer fee into next season's accounts.1

Using Chromebook and these screenshots are rather massive... Bigger than Sheffield Wednesday. Please stop uploading screenshots to this thread as they're also more likely to be spotted by jobsworths.8

I think we probably offered the same fee as hull but wanted him to sign 2 to 3 year contract. Hull are prepared for him to walk away on a free at the end of the season as he will be out of contract, unless there is a clause either side the triggers a perm (number of games)1

Not the sort of deal I would have wanted us to do for sure.2 -

WTAF is a Burton pic doing in there?10

I really hope we sign at least one other. Would be a tad embarrassing given all of those tweets. Pride comes before a fall
Here's hoping, but main thing is we keep Taylor2 -
Harry Gregory said:I hope for his future credibility as Charlton's CEO that there are at least two signings of some value after those tweets this morning and all that has been said since the takeover.
Do you mean I'm happy to get in a worse player as long as we've shelled out a transfer fee ?
Probably not.0 -

Like I said no idea who they are or whether true or a windup.1 -
if you had to pick one permutation now i think it would be bostock and jch in, taylor stays and we loan a couple - davidson and morgan?? to bristol rovers - i'd be happy with that5

Thought window closed at 11pm? So seven to go.0

Bristol rovers saying no contact from Charlton at all today. Looks like we wont be going for JCH.2

I am of a different generation but I have no problem with the fun and games, though watching Sky Sports Transfer Centre is excruciating - if I hear about King going from Bournemouth to Man U I will probably reach for the whisky bottle. Their repetitive churn is way, way beyond tedious, but as for MS as any good sales person will tell you, in the real world, you need to have the medals go with it.
The medals? In this case is "deals over the line".
I worked with some great sales people who loved nothing more than a bit of "sparring" but there were those who knew when it was time to play and time to deliver. Can you do both at the same time? Sure, but for those that didn't deliver? Well come performance review...…...
Lets make no mistake this market is a bear pit. I suspect most will be checking whether they still have any fingers after shaking hands in this environment. You are never going to win on anything more than 10%of these "deals" so you had better have more than 2 on the CV when the closing bell sounds.
Otherwise you look a complete prat. Many will shrug it off as part of the "game" but many will not. Credibility does have a shelf life.
Deadline day has been turned into an "entertainment" in itself. No problem with that but when the balloons have deflated and the party is over there is a day job to go back to. Come 9.00a.m Saturday morning there is a clubhouse manager and a group of players to look in the eye - "it was a fun day, great crack, but sorry guys could not get the business done - just does not cut it."
Yes, players today are of a different mindset and there may be a "win" for those who could well have been frozen out but for the "winners" in the clubhouse, with their agents in their ears, its their careers, their playing status, their pay cheque, their win bonuses and I guarantee you within the four walls of the dressing room it still matters.
I recognise the world of Twitter has a developing significance but there is only so much you can do with a 140bytes.
And if you think I am moving from Lyon to Wolfsburg for £48.4mn on £2 a week you can think again.
Have you seen the pollution from the Volkswagen factory?

No JCH, to me mean, Taylor is staying put2
