David Davis. His parents must have a wild imagination.
  • I think 4 talented players in to allow some rotation for the rest of the season, and to bring on something different as subs is actually pretty good.  And pretty good is pretty good in Charlton world...

Dunno what’s going on here but as everyone is up in arms, I actually think that’s a decent signing! 😂

Birmingham fans up in arms on Twitter as well. He’s been their best midfielder apparently

Looked on both their fan boards and few seem upset. Apparently he was not going to get playing time with another player coming back from injury.

3 more bodies in, kept Taylor. Win tomorrow and it’ll be sweet. Lose and it could go tits up.

Good player David Davis. Energetic, strong and a real bastard to get past for attackers. He'll be a decent rotation option with Pratley meaning we could maybe push Field up the pitch a bit once he's back. I think Bowyer is trying to make sure we never have a midfield crisis like we had again so he's not relying on players coming back from long term injuries going straight in, which is sensible. It also takes the pressure off these players knowing they have to get back in asap or we're screwed
  • Still could sign out of contract players if needed too!

I am going to reserve judgement for a bit, but I'm currently in the process of writing lyrics for my diss track towards Matt Southall just in case

I like Davis, good energetic midfielder. A little disappointed if we don’t get a striker in though.
To be fair, you may be biased

Matt Southall really oversold this window lol, 4 loan signings, imagine if that was RD
If that was RD, we’d 100% be sitting here at 11pm without Taylor. Maybe even without Phillips too.

Surprised all these midfielders hasn’t meant a departure such as Morgan/Dempsey on loan.

David Davis! What a signing that is

Davis does seem like a good Pratley alternative to do the dirty work in midfield

And Bowyer still on a rolling contract being linked to jobs left, right and centre.
  • Pretty sure Southall said the priorities were to sign up Bowyer, keep Taylor and strengthen the squad. He's done all 3.

Lost Gallagher and Leko. Can't really count Kayal and Ledley.
Signed Green, McGeady, Smith and Davis.

Can only assume Bowyer/Gallen didn't want any defenders as we've not been linked with any and haven't signed any.

Our midfield being made up of loans, of which all can't even feature in the squad if everyone is fit does not feel ideal to me. A permanent or a loan in another position would appear to have been better business.

That being said I'm still quiet happy with how it's gone and with the players we have, and if we keep everyone fit I think we will stay up easily.

I imagine if Matt hadn't tweeted all that stuff people would probably not be that annoyed by this window, but he has made a rod for his own back there.

Apparently the fella who won the free tickets from Southall earlier has sent them back!
Just to clarify he responded saying he has a season ticket, would like something else lol cheek of it

    Matt Southall, what a wally
    Why?
‘Marquee signings’ ‘we will spend money’ ‘prices and wage demands drop at the end of the window’ all the fart arsing on social media and we get 4 loans. Wally.
Totally with you on this, wasn’t expecting miracles but jeez I was expecting a lot more.

Can't understand why people are getting upset. Not many deals done for any Championship club other than deals.
Should be enough to keep us up and then better value for signings in the summer.

Nothing to worry about, keep the faith.

Pleased with the window so far as we have got Bows. Green a bonus. Judge them 31st December.
10 lol. Shopping for pie ingredients yet? Probably not.

    Have MORE faith.

Fantastic window. Bows, Cullen and Taylor staying. Unbelievable!

Plus we have reinforcements to push us up the table and the money we haven’t spent the money that will go a lot further.

”the only way is up” - gotta be singing this Saturday. Buzzing that we are back.

    We kept Lyle.
    Nothing else matters.
We will be in the Championship next season.
  • Typical January Transfer Window

Half the fans want players signed... the other half caution that its difficult to do deals

When signings are made those who demand the signings moan the players arent good enough

So who doesn't make the squad from the loan players when they're all available?
