    Where’s he gone ?
  • I actually forgot about him.

These two plus page have no future at Charlton imo.
  • Should be back next week apparently
  • Might even be back today, Bowyer mentioned that Jake travelled up with the rest of the squad

    Doubt that after today.

Don’t quite understand why everyone has lost faith in Aneke

Carried too much bulk to play Bows press. There will be a time when he is in such. Soon I hope. Skillful guy.

I'd have Aneke on the bench rather than Hemed, he's a unit and a bit more direct

Nice to have some good news for once.

Would be good for us in League One, that I have no doubt.

  • Has shown that he’s a good player at league 1 level. Still raving about his performance at left wing back against Fulham.

Fair play to him for this. Can see him playing a big part next season, especially as we're likely to be without Cullen

Good news. Interesting that in this case it's the player who had the power to exercise an option, rather than the club. I imagine he saw the chaos surrounding football and decided that having a guaranteed year was safer than risking trying to find a new club

Keep him fit, and he's a good player at L1 level, and a decent squad player in the Championship

He had a decent few games at the end of this season as well
  • Bloke must be either mad or desperate to sign up with us for another year.

@killerandflash is probably spot on though, easy to do that than take the gamble of finding somewhere else in these uncertain times.

Very happy he has signed though. Him, Morgan, Pratley and Oztumer is a decent league one midfield.

Thanks Jake... Should be a good player at that level

Whilst its not surprising due to his injuries its nice to see some sticking by us

Realistically where else would he go? Maybe one of the newly promoted clubs to the Championship might want him, but you can't imagine Rotherham or Wycombe paying any more than his current contract. Otherwise who in L1 would take the risk, with his injury history?

will be a very good player at L1 level, nice bit of good news........for once !
  • Certainly he is more than capable in L1, if he can stay fit then he will be a real asset.

    He's only had three injuries

    16/17 season - Hamstring
    18/19 season - Knee
    19/20 season - Hamstring

Just a shame that middle one exists... Had it not done then yeah he may have received a better offer elsewhere

Sigh. We seemingly have learnt nothing from the disastrous Page experience. Another malingerer when we will be severely short of bodies next season.

Yeah he played one game all season that year.

This last season felt like he was injured, but in reality he was just not as good as Gallagher or Cullen or Field and didn't manage the game as well as Pratley. Was seriously good in the game at Fulham at left back though.

That's a pretty stupid comment. JFC had two bad injuries; a terrible knee injury which made him miss a season through no fault of his own, and then a hamstring injury caused by him being thrown in long before he was ready against Fulham, where he was excellent until he inevitably pulled up. It's not like he's a historically injury prone player. The fact we're going to be short of bodies is all the more reason it's good he's been signed up. I'd rather have JFC in our midfield than some kids who are barely ready for National League football.
Strange use of malingering as well. Are you saying you think JFC and Page have been feigning or exaggerating their injuries?
