No mate, absolutely not. I’m 60 and I’m asking for my friend’s daughter who has just split up with her boyfriend and is essentially homeless - currently sofa surfing. Would appreciate sensible and genuine replies. For that price you'll only be getting shared accomodation, if she is ok with that

Thanks ... she’s been to look at flats in the locality and as far away as Greenhithe. Problem is, there are 20 other people going after the same flats. You need to have an income of £30k before landlords or agencies consider you and that’s for a £1k per month rental. Even though she has a guarantor, they’re not even considering her. Have a look at postcode DA8 on RightMove and there are a number of 1 bed flats/houses in that price range.

Personally I would go offline for this with so much demand and try shop windows local to where you're most keen. Keep it old school for less competition and avoid agency checks and fees.0
