Been a really grim past few months and particular this past few weeks.

Throughout this forum has been a great crutch and constant source of humour, comfort, information, advice and general decency and compassion.

Some amazingly kind and thoughtful people and acts of kindness on here and some genuinely hilarious comments and humour to keep our spirits up through these challenging times.

Really is uplifting and helps you see the good in humanityis there in abundance  among us always.

Cheers.

Not bad for a bunch of trainspotters with the odd spanner thrown in for good measure:-)

Well said Rodders. I think we are all going to be in need of the site even more in the coming months, whatever happens at Charlton.

Worst thing about it is I'm off the booze for 2020 mate. Regretting that decision very much.

So my cringeworthy outpouring are from a sober base I'm afraid:-)

Maybe if I go on the piss all weekend they'll find a vaccine and our club troubles will be resolved!

Amongst all the “it’s the hope that kills you” fatalism that is the lot of your average Addick, I’m amazed at the variety of people on here.  Even the wums have their place (at times).  There is always something that makes me smile in all the threads. FWIW, I think @Big_Bad_World is actually a closet Charlton fan

Affiliations and allegiances go out of the window at times like these.

I would have liked to have shook @paulie8290 hand earlier but social distancing (and other delivery commitments) meant I was unable to take him up on his kind offer of a cup of tea.

And I so wanted you to have that cup of tea I had the perfect cup ready for you @Big_Bad_World haha

Thanks again for bringing the Loo Roll around

Friendly reminder, dues are to be paid in full by end of the month. No more excuses. Next reminder won’t be so friendly.

You also didn't have any milk so we were always in 'no no' territory ;)

You're also more than welcome. As I said earlier, you've got my number if ever you find yourself in a tight spot in the future, and I don't just mean loo rolls.

I hope the handle falls off of that mug :D

Shameless 'give me a promote' post.

Proper mimd games at play here. On the one hand I want to like the post purely for the comedic value of liking a post that the OP won't. On the other I want to lol it as it kind of deserves one. On the third hand (shut up, it's an analogue clock analogy) I don't want to give it anything as it was probably designed for one of the first two hands' responses.

    Dilemma.

Oh please, you’re not even trying to act like a spanner now.  Admit it; you were born under the covered end.

(and many thanks. We all need to pull together.  Be more than happy to buy you a beer - or cuppa - if our paths should ever cross)

I like a joke as much as the next person but that's borderline slander.

If Paulie keeps his gob shut then my identity will remain a mystery. If he doesn't then he'll be wiping his arse with a tea towel for the foreseeable :)

So I'm not expecting to get a promote in the near future then? Damn, what a shame, you have sincerely hurt me very dearly with that comment.
Never mind though, I'm sure I will get over it 😉

Well said, Rodders - I've said it many times that this forum is so, so much more than a football talking shop. It is a community in the very best sense of that word, full of amazing people. We may be trainspotters but all the better for that.

And as for our resident spanner - well! I wouldn't demean him by calling him a closet Addick, he is a true spanner even though he does tend to go against the received wisdom of what makes a typical Smallwall supporter. The forum is made better by his presence.
