    RIP Sir Maurice.
  • He was a lovely man - I sat with him for lunch a couple of times. I think he told me that he had brothers and because they supported West Ham - he wanted to be different and so chose Charlton , he was actually a world renowned figure particularly for his charity work and in the Jewish community, if you google him you will grasp the extent of his good work and benevolence.

RIP, never met him but always had the thought there was a lot of good to him.

Noticeable considering all the turbulence attached to our club that I’ve not remembered ever hearing or reading a bad word about him.

One of the very good guys without any doubt. A long and meaningful life to be celebrated.

    RIP

I didn't know him another than as a name in the Charlton reference books and website but, as others have said, the fact that he has not been criticised over the past 10 years or more, given his status, speaks volumes.
  • Don't we all wish there were more altruism in the world. Sir Maurice was truly altruistic and is a very sad loss to all who met him or benefitted from his patronage.
    RIP,Sir.
