Mentioned it a few mentioned it a few pages back, but Tim Burgess from The Charlatans has been doing some great stuff every evening with his listening parties.
You just stick the album on, or stream it, and he gets the artists involved and live tweeting stories about the tracks and what was happening when they recorded it. Some great stuff so far (you can look back at ones already done) and looking forward to The Specials this weekend with Terry Hall and Horace Panter joining in.
the Jam, 1977 session for the legendary John Peel. The real raw stuff before they went all jazz funk. Used to love John Peel, 10 pm every weekday night. But he did play some absolute shite as well
Feel like I've just discovered Talk Talk and loving it. Had obviously heard of them and the odd song on the radio but for some reason never paid much attention til now.
Having sorted out and got rid of most of my old vynal the other day, I am going to listen to (quietly) ozzy Osbourne/ randy Rhodes tribute, I bought this in Texas in the late 80's with my late sister , great memories .
I know most people now days download music, but who of you still buy Vinyl Albums as aposed to C.Ds.? It could be an age thing(late seventies) but I love Vinyl Records. There is more Frequency on Vinyl as opposed to suppressed music on a C.D. When I retired I treated
myself to a new Turntable which cost £1000 and Floor standing Speakers. So in my opinion you cannot beat Vinyl, still buy new Albums on Viny.

i do like vinyl, i have a few myself and some of my friends in my age group (30s) have been buying albums in that form since they were teenagers. i on the other hand have at first brought albums on tape then went on to cd purely because of price and convenience. i think I've only ever downloaded one song from the internet and that was rage against the machine to help get them to the christmas number 1 a few years back.
No ABBA on Charlton Life. Let's put that right. Here they are with the rather groovy If It Wasn't For The Nights, from their disco-era LP of 1979 Voulez-Vous
