It'll be great to beat palarse....but it's P45 time for parky.
  • He's not the man for the job, he talked a few weeks ago about getting one win. Well we got the one win and FA since.
I'll love it, love it if we beat palarse.
  • Don't know, I'm so fickle with my doom and gloom. Beating Palace would only convince me that the players should have played better in previous games, regardless of manager.

Good old Dazzler, keep the faith.

All this claptrap about needing 53 points to stay up ..... maybe that's right, but I'd bet that this season it'll be a lower figure than that.

Get ready - here comes my pearl of wisdom that I trundle out every so often:

We need one more point to stay up then the team that finishes 22nd.

That's all. But it would be a big help first to actually put some points on the board tomorrow.

    ;o)

Well it would be great to beat palace tomorrow and no doubt I will start wanting to believe we can go on a winning run. It could happen...but the one we needed to lift off from was Norwich in the cup. It is getting very tight to stage the sort of comeback we are going to need. The players/manager should have found the fight earlier than this and Parky has not proved yet to be a lucky manager irrespective of his merits or non merits.
I can't bring myself to say we are going down yet on here but we all know it's looking pretty bleak.

We need 3 wins in a row from somewhere - and soon.
That would gobble up the cast adrift gap and bolster belief.

Erm, we might need a leader first .......

As we are a London team how about we :

    Cheat like West Ham
    Bleat like Arsenal
Tap up players like the Yids and Chelski
smash the place up like Millwall
    then run away like Palarse.

If we lose tomorrow night it will be like a mallet in the balls.
A win will lift us to the heights but we need some real consistent football and winning performances for the next 3 months and we haven't seen that for a very long time at this club.
We have a mountain to climb and we haven't got to first base yet.

A mallet in the ball for me 3blokes!
I cannot even see us getting to first base let alone climbing, I think it all to much, you are asking a team whose confidence is totally shot, we are like Derby were in the Prem, it ain't going to happen.

I never thought Parky was The Man for The Job. I think we have to get used to going down now? But PP is not the man to bring us back up? But that would be a financial matter...
    We're still Charlton tho ;-) !

I'd love to argue with you Steve, but I think I'll go to bed .

  • its shocking that in january we are already cut adrift. the fall from grace has been catasrophic and the winless run you couldnt have predicted. if you think about it the chances of a team going 18 unbeaten is about the same as winning 18 on the spin. just had a thought i wonder what odds youd get for us going another 5, 10, 15, or all 18 without a win. as far a bookies odds go and my luck with betting id be prepared to lose all my bets if it meant our fortunes turned around. if i bet on us losing is that disloyal if our luck changes??? oh parky and parky should go. he doesnt have the skills or the team to sort this mess out. go now parky and a new broom can sweep away the crap so that next season we have a chance to stabilise if possible with a big points deduction from the administration nightmare that seems to be imminent.

I think we're pretty much up the creek but IF we did win i'd have a glimmer of hope, as despite not winning in 20 odd league games we'd still be only 6 points odd from safety, which i think is amazing.

A win tonight will further paper over the cracks. There will be the predictable over excited reaction to a win.

Reality check will come on Saturday - we have to go to in form Burnley. If Burnley perfom at 50% of the level they did against Spurs we will be buried without a trace.

Regardless of what happens tonight, we will not get the 10 wins we require to get out of this.

    .

The funny thing is, they'll possibly think, "we're playing Charlton.
That's 3 points without having to graft for it, and game over if we score in the first 10 mins".

At Turf Moor on Saturday, we could be giant-killers if we got a win.

If we go down, as has seemed eminently possible for a long while now then as long as we go kicking and screaming and making life difficult for those around us and take it as close to the wire then I can just about take that, depressing though it would be. The way we have been going about things pre Palace was getting to me. I really hope that tonight is a "spring"board to better things and we can really start running up that hill, I just hope it wasn't the last roar before we go. I hope and prey that the chaps having answered our call tonight continue in this vein until the bitter end!
If PP and the team can get us out of this then I would happily eat all those Humple Pie LPs!

In form Burnley? They have lost their last FIVE league games including their last two home games.

In the same period they have lost and beaten Spurs in the CC, drawn and beaten QPR in the FAC and drawn with West Brom in the FAC.

That's two wins, two draws and six losses in their last 10 games - beatable I would say!!!
  • before tonight we were 8 points and 10 goals behind the safety spot(same number of games played)
we are now 8 points and 9 goals behind the safety spot(we've played one more game)

after tonights games our position is still unbelievably bad in fact being a pessimist , it's got worse ffs!!
we're doomed and our performance isn't gonna inspire me into thinking we'll win 4 games on the spin ;-(

Still not convinced and believe he should have been shown the door last year, but and this is a big but, if we can get a few wins to get back in contention I will gladly swallow my perception of his ability for now at least
