I notice on his Westminster memorial that the letters GM appear after Keith’s name.
Am I right in thinking that denotes ‘George Medal?’

Yes he was awarded it posthumously.

As the story said, the bloke was taking a piss next to it, not on it or up against it.

Disgusting as it maybe to piss in the street I doubt whether the bloke knew where he was pissing or who the memorial was to. I doubt he knew that there was a memorial there anyway. I reckon he just saw that the was somewhere slightly secluded/hidden where he could take a leak. Probably pissed up & oblivious to it all.

Not defending him for 1 minute.......just trying to put some context to the picture.

So you are saying he deliberately pissed up against the memorial?

Yes, he is clearly doing just that.

That he MAY not have noticed what he was urinating against is no excuse.

He was supposedly there to protect memorials and did the exact opposite.

    A desecration by a hypocrite.

We can get excited and outraged over a man pissing near it which I believe happened it wasn’t deliberate or we can not even entertain the violence showed by some mindless scum yesterday on both sides. Pc keith Palmer will always be an addick and I hope the chap in the photo has the balls to apologise for any offence he has caused.

there have been many disgraceful scenes over the last few days and weeks:-
     - George Floyd being killed.
     - People trying to set fire to the Union Flag on The Cenotaph.
     - Statues being defaced and ripped down.
     - Someone urinating next to PC Palmer's memorial.

The problem is created when people draw a distinction between what illegal and scummy act is acceptable and what illegal and scummy act isn't. It's all unacceptable. If you disagree with something or someone, protest peacefully (as the majority are doing), make your case through the process of democracy. If you disagree with the democratic process, then that is your right, but you can't usurp it.

Fortunately for our democracy, The far right, who are capitalising on the agitation of the far left to push their scummy agenda, are irrelevant at the ballot box. The far left, who are hijacking the principles of BLM to drive their marxist agenda, are equally so.

apologies for using this thread to get that off my chest - I recognise that it might not be the most appropriate place.

This has totally pissed me off seeing this this morning.

Things have gotten out of hand quickly, this is not lawful protesting anymore.

This behaviour has become abhorrent and must be stopped. Hard and Fast. If we don't have enough Police to stamp it out, bring in the military.

Amongst those claiming to want to protect memorials there were veterans and other peaceful law-abiding souls, whose respectful presence was largely overlooked. The right wing thugs became the only story of note.

The BLM protestors are similarly mostly respectful with a few idiots, it is just a shame when any demonstration becomes destroyed by people intent on causing trouble.
