The fact that Huddersfield are joint 2nd favourites and could be league 1 says no one knows where he is going lol
A bit like us selling Grant and replacing him with Josh Parker!1 -
ColinTat said:Greed as if you know a player's full motivation, or even understand their pressures. From all reliable sources within the club it was the club that pushed the transfer to Huddersfield.
Grant was in pieces when he left Sparrows Lane for the last time.
Some of our 'supporters' show no class at all.

Yeah I’ve never got the Grant stick at all.18

In the immortal words of KK......"I'd love it" if they got relegated this season.1 -
With all the shit going on at the club under Roland (remember Aribo getting offered a contract, then withdrawing it and offering a new one with significantly less wages?) Not sure I can blame Grant for wanting to go elsewhere. Unlike Taylor, he never refused to play and it was the club pushing the transfer rather than the player downing tools9

I've got no problem with Grant , he probably increased his salary x 5 when he moved. Charlton could have turned the offer down23

Im not on twitter and was surprised to see the hatred between the fans and grant and visa versa when we played this season. So gutted 🙈. Hes one who will never come back. Unless its to haunt us (just scored), nightmares of defoe. We seem do this to quite a few players who leave. Maybe not aribo or gomez or shelvey id presume.Taylor im unhappy about tho as the club has the risk of going under with all the uncertainty if relegated plus the fact we pay him for games he hasnt played (or seem to be). He can do one.We should just lock close delete this thread and move on. He certainly has.0

Hopefully the big contract offered to Taylor is from Wigan11

LOL I am sure Karlan was in bits...
He didn't have to take the move himself!
Even so, the abuse is unnecessary and will usually spur a player on.0 -
The abuse Grant got in the match at Huddersfield was pretty unpleasant really, it went way beyond the "pantomime booing" ex players sometimes get. He was perfectly entitled to cock an ear to the Charlton fans after scoring.
The stick Bielik got when we played Derby was rather unnecessary too10 -

Watching the highlights now, both Karlan's penalties were poor - one was saved, one should have been saved!1

Some people need to realise that there is no longer any such thing as loyalty in football, whether that be from player to club or from club to player.7 -
Grant did nothing wrong. Club accepted a bid, he moved to play a few games in the premier league.
huge pay rise. He played even when he knew the move might come, unlike Taylor.
Parker played right through to the end of his transfer.
Dont understand Lyle.

But why should we "realise that there is no longer any such thing as loyalty in football"? Why would you even want to have anything to do with it in that case? There may be a sad shortage of loyalty, but we should continue to expect it.1 -

Shows how many knobs we have supporting us these days. Not saying that they are the same people but you only have to look at the hysterical posts on this forum every time a player chooses to leave.

Many players, mostly youngsters who may have been at a club for many years, are readily discarded, as are players going out of contract. Charlton are no different to any other club in this respect.0 -

Do you expect the club to show loyalty towards players, or do you expect them to make a commercial decision when a player's contract is coming to an end?0 -

Theres no loyalty anymore, too much money to be loyal, cant argue with it. Shows textbook human nature. Not so sure that younger generations need to be loyal supporters eh, may as well change teams in the transfer window.1
