You only get the option of a heart via a click.
Leave him. He's a waster and discredits himself with no extra advertising needed.0 -
I understand Lyle Taylor getting stick for not playing in June when his contract was still valid, but why should he play in July for a team that didn't offer him a contract commensurate with his status as a championship striker.
I'm a long time Charlton fan but the extension temporary contract could have jeopardize his only big contract he's ever going to get for the last two to three years he has left.
I will save my hatred for Southall who exploited the loop hole in the EFL and being an opportunist who have failed at everything in life saw yet another chance to make some quick money before he was sussed out.
I have no idea if he did anything illegal other that when he was up before the beak and found guilty of changing the status of names at company house.0 -

So I met Taylor the day England played and won on penalties to Columbia. He was a nice lad and full of himself, it was his first pre season with us. Anyway he got smashed off his face and I have pics of him asleep in a bar.
We have messaged over there years to laugh about it. I sent him a message last night and he sent a heart. Not sure if he is taking the piss of not
Edit: I did not take the pics, I was away with work and all the work lads were snapping34 -
The 3 games he was contracted for we won 2 and drew 1. That's as good as that could have been expected even with Taylor.
Blaming him for not playing in games he wasn't even contracted for is just bizarre. He'd have been a f**king idiot to extend his contract for the 7 games.
There's an actual conmen and thieves involved at the club driving around in range rovers and each others fees they haven't earnt that vastly outweigh any sum of money involved in Taylor's contract. Let's stick to bashing that lot rather than a guy who was vital in getting us promoted and even us having a chance to stay in this division and ALWAYS gave his all when on the pitch, shall we?!
He's been honest about the transfer saga last summer and about the contract negotiations over the past 12 months in his interviews.
Nothing positive can come out of this thread, but have fun, I guess.

Lyle is being painted as the villain of the situation, but he had every right to refuse to play once his contract expired.
I'm convinced we would've stayed up had he played & I guess that's why people are so upset, but he is not the enemy. I believe he became as disillusioned as the rest of us by the way the club was being run & didn't want to risk any potential future transfer, so bailed out when he had the chance.
Direct your anger towards the charlatans running the club. They are the real enemy.5 -

taylor was vital in promotion but equally as vital in our relegation.
southal and chums are vial and taylor, although not as bad, is in the same category
he wasn’t worried about injury playing for his national team and taking 14 weeks money. Horrible man.8 -
A waste of time blaming him - better to move on.
Bigger issues for the club.5 -
Killer and flash got it in one 👍🏽1
-
Hope he ruptures an ACL before he puts pen to paper on a contract

It's been just over three weeks since his contract expired, this deal of a lifetime is a bit slow coming, thought it was signed and sealed.1

As others have said, players all over the championship and premier league have done exactly that to fight for the club. So you think Cullen is a “f**king idiot” for extending his loan contract beyond the end of normal season?15 -

it's not unreasonable to blame Taylor when his not honouring his contract, and not extending it for 3 weeks, has cost us relegation, without doubt. He has let down his friends, colleagues and fans. While there have been bigger villains this season, it's the kids in Lyle wigs at Wembley last year that I feel sorry for. Hero to less than zero.
I know it's a short career, but that doesn't make it acceptable or ethical to sell people down the river.14 -
Kieffer Moore knew he was leaving Wigan but gave everything up to and including last night.Part of me doesn’t blame Taylor but he is a selfish wanker who let his team mates down when they needed him the most.37
-
The thing that does it most for me is the fact he was out for so long and continued to get paid and then refuses to play. i hope he wasn't given his wages during this time

Jude Bellingham came on as a sub for Birmingham, crossed the ball into the box for their equaliser against us, then flew to Germany the next day and his transfer to Dortmund was announced. That’s being a true professional.38

In an increasingly rare moment of positivity, let's assume that football below the premium loog will commence a 2020/21 season some time, perhaps as soon as September.
If in the next couple of seasons Lyle Taylor returns to The Valley (wherever Charlton's 'home' ground might be) don't waste your breath on booing or barracking him. We saw against Luton what all that attention does to him, the player.
Let's not give his gargantuan ego the oxygen of publicity, he's now just a footnote* in two of Charlton's most remarkable seasons. Remarkable for much bigger and more important reasons than one narcissist striker. Save your energies for positive projects.
* a footnote who scored a few goals to be fair.

It shouts one thing.
My name is LT.
I don't really enjoy my job that much. So I don't bother doing it.
Which is strange...as my job is a dream for a lot of people.
I can't be bothered to play games and score goals.
Just gimme some dam money3 -

Clearly doesn't give a fuck about the club or us fans, but imagine being such a low-level of c*** that you can just turn your back on your mates in their time of need.11
