My computer keeps saying no to this site.

Has anyone else had this problem? My firewall and Vista are increasingly closing down IE when I come on this site. It says it's trying to protect me! Any ideas please?

  • It's obviously seen the league table, and wants to protect you from more misery stilladdicted... :-D
  • IE - Enough said
  • Isn't Vista crap.
  • Hate it - problem is that they wouldn't supply my laptop with XP. Seriously considering gover over to Macs - If only I had the money ;o(
  • I bought my girlfriend a laptop for Christmas and specifically went out to find one without Vista. Got an Acer netbook in the end, they come with Linux, XP or Vista although they are phasing out the XP ones.
  • Will almost certainly upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out - Heard good things about it.

But I'm still tempted by a Mac.
  • Vista and IE, both total crap.

Download the newest version of FireFox then punch yourself in the face for buying a PC with Vista ;-)
  • Vista and IE are not crap at all...Vista just takes a bit of getting used too. There are a few bugs but the security is better & the interface is n all!

Windows 7 is available now for download (beta) & I've found it very good so far, not much different from Vista but the annoying management console thing doesn't constantly pop up now. Not as resource heavy either.
  • After many years as a Mac user I've gone back to PC. I prefer Mac hardware and OSX to PCs and Vista and would definitely recommend a Mac to anyone considering switching, but you get more "bang for your buck" with PCs and as I enjoy occassional gaming I wanted some decent hardware. Also PCs are a lot more versatile and upgradable. That said, my 6-year old Mac is still going strong and can handle most things - but not the games. I'm not overly keen on Vista but it's not that big a deal - will upgrade to Windows 7 when it's given a full release.

Vista is poo, Polo - end of. XP is the most stable operating system ever written, Vista is slow as old harry compared to it. Windows 7 is much faster than Vista (30% faster from some real-world tests I've done). Agree with you about IE though - IE 7 is faster and less prone to crashes than Firefox in my experience - but I've used FF for so long that I've got used to it and wouldn't go back. Whatever stilladdicted's problem with this site is its not a security-related one - I'd guess its likely to be some kind of malware doing it.

No - none of it is. I figured since people probably have to spell most words of more than two syllables to you, let alone explain what they mean, that I may as well post it all in a completely foreign language.

How about I do a redacted (that means to edit material for publication to an audience) version for you?

Vista is shit, Firefox is better than Internet Explorer and the original poster's problems are probably the result of looking at porn on his computer.
  • wots a syllable ? is it like a frozen ice cream thingy ?
