    That’s a sackable result.
  • Yeah that is awful from Boothroyd... Need someone in charge of the U21s who is going to be an adequate replacement for Southgate!!

Bothroyd is awful. Pointless having all these fantastic young players coming through when we aren’t producing enough good young coaches or managers.
He’s another dinosaur. Might as well have given the job to Sam Allardyce.

Agreed but it will probably go to sol Campbell

What you need in the U21s is a decent coach (doesn't have to be a manager) that knows and plays attractive football.

What you don't need is a failed out-of-touch manager that is just looking for a paycheck.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Jack Butland (Stoke City), Dele (Tottenham Hotspur), Fabian Delph (Manchester City), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Joe Gomez (Liverpool), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Harry Maguire (Leicester City), Alex McCarthy (Southampton), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), John Stones (Manchester City), James Tarkowski (Burnley), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham Hotspur), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal).
How many of these play on a regular  basis for their clubs ?

You're responding to a post from 2018 so that's a bit out of date

Don’t rate Boothroyd, but that squad of players should be beating andorra
  • That’s a sackable result.
Give it to that other fella in the England set up - Chris Powell?
  • It's as if everyone has forgotten how to defend. Crazy scores in the PL and now the U21s letting in THREE against Andorra  :open_mouth:

  • I'd love to know what sort of numbers the Andorra U21 manager has to choose from.

The entire countries population is smaller than Bromley.

They've scored nine goals this Qualifying Period, most they've scored by a long distance this time round than ever before in the U21s

They've also conceded a hell of a lot less

Might be a bit like Luxembourg of late where they might have actually got a few decent players appearing
  • Who if the Andorran GOAT?  ;)

With 128 caps, this guy is probably their GOAT

    Erm what

England Under-19s' match with Scotland at St. George's Park this afternoon was abandoned in the first half as a precaution in line with COVID protocol. We are not in a position to comment further at this time.

So the game started then was stopped due to covid protocol

  • Seems they only got the Covid test results after the game started

Experimental formation and lineup for England.

3-5-2 wing backs with Grealish behind Ings and DCL.

Centre mid is pretty weak, but I’m glad Saka starts on the left.

Blimey... Pope stats in goal!! - Dont dislike that team though
  • I quite like the formation, be interested to see how we can accommodate the wide players like Sterling | Sancho | Rashford though

Maybe thats another England isue though, we try too hard to fit individuals into a team rather than thinking of the squad as a collective unit

Wondered if Pope or Henderson would get the nod.
Hope he has a good game coz No1 position is not nailed down at the moment.

Matt Smith playing, too. Is that the one we had, last season?

    Yeah
    Gonna destroy them :D
  • Coady is best as the "spare man" in a 3, so the system should suit him. That's how he plays at Wolves

Good team, if Southgate doesn’t get a result he could be in trouble, don’t rate him at all.

And I do rate him. But understand he will be under the spotlight
