I don't get the hype around Albie, yes he can hit a Hollywood pass but what else does he do?
What he definitely doesn't do is work hard for the team. If you watch him, he's sneaky, he hides and tries to make it look like he's working but how often do you see him winning the ball or hassling the opposition in to a mistake... not very!
He looked like maybe the penny had dropped in lockdown, when he slimmed downed and played ok but also look like he's gone back to his old ways.
Hard work is what managers want in L1 & L2 so unless your going to build a team around him playing as a 10 you won't take him.
Massively over-rated by the fan base7 -
I like the idea of us putting together a proper bid for Thomas. I don't know a great deal about him, apart from the fact he's played a hell of a lot of games by 21, but it's nice to hear we're identifying targets we want and putting together money bids. Feels like a proper football team

I've come to realise that when Cawley tweets the player's name, usually we're there or thereabouts. He doesn't scupper deals in that way, so I think we should expect this to happen.40

Not sure we need another non-scoring forward, but we will need to have faith in developing him into one.0

dickplumb said:I also quite like Albie but I agree with Bowyer, as a midfielder he needs to do his fair share of defensive work. I have watched him since he was a sixteen year old and he hasn't changed. Great range of passing, powerful shot and that is it. He should be learning from one of the best midfielders we have produced, Lee Bowyer.2

I've always got the feeling Albie has an attitude problem. I may be wrong on that. It's just something I've picked up from Bowyer's answers on him and how curt he is on the Albie subject. Especially the "He's fine. No. He's fine," answer the other week. Now making a point of saying no league clubs coming for him. I have always thought he might be trying to put him in his place.1

All the players we seem to have produced recently (especially midfielders) seem have an outstanding asset, and massive weeknesses, I see this reflected in the England set up as well. Is it talent identification that's changed or academy coaching?2 -

I'm sure this Thomas is a creator, not a goalscorer, plus he'd be one for the future and like Bonne will cost us relatively nothing.6 -

It's tell us he's not a goal scorer but what are his assist stats ?
Is he just a winger or does he track back and play midfield( mandatory in football now)
As FA said, this is more like the "midfielder"
definitely not the striker.

I wonder if this Thomas bid makes him the striker Bows was talking about or the midfielder. Hopefully the latter.1

Seems to be predominantly a left winger, comfortable on the ball with good end product. Only 21 too.6 -
Bonne had a pretty impressive goal scoring record at Orient but he still managed to split opinion playing for us as a striker, not too fussed about him only having 5 in 750

I believe your wrong unless being laid back is an attitude problem ?

Looking at Thomas' record - if we must judge a young winger on goals - he scored all five last season which is a sign of development.8

soapboxsam said:The mystery is how did Oztumer have a fantastic 60 minute debut against Forest but never get close to that form again ?
Our movement and pressing in that 60 minutes was incredible.
Taylor was constantly moving back and forth across the Forest back line. Leko was as slippery as an eel with his unpredictable runs and dribbles dragging defenders all across the park, creating loads of space in midfield for a constantly moving and aware Oztumer to exploit, fed by a stream of crisp passing by Field in DM.
It was Sam Field's first start - and with Cullen, mopped up nearly everything in front of our defence. Oztumer was always moving, always making himself available. And the movement around and in front of him allowed him to perform.
It feels like he's never since had so much freedom to play his own game.

Henry Irving said:Charlton have made a six-figure bid for Boreham Wood winger Sorba Thomas. 21-year-old seen as one of the hottest properties in non-league. He came through West Ham’s academy, and has also been tracked by QPR and Barnsley #cafc
If he signs for us and scores, looking forward to see him doing Sorba's Dance7 -

Was thought to be a real prospect four years ago and then seems to have played progressively fewer games since then, culminating in not playing a single game on loan at an Eredivisie club who cut it short. I wonder if we would have a look at him, no idea if he's completely gone to pieces or just needs a fresh start. Striker/winger3

Guessing Sorba Thomas is the bonus player then as we still have two loan spots to fill?7

Having said that, Ransom tweeted it first, and he's also highly reliable, so if both are pushing it then it's obviously true.
I don't see how a non league side can turn down a 6 figure fee in the current climate. It could pay their wage bill for months.5 -
Left handed player - can play in midfield and up front - Sounds like a long term Alfie replacement to me ?0
