Summer Transfer Rumours 2020 (DEADLINE DAY from pg.258)

The statement is clearly a rallying call for a bidding war, why else would he list all of the other clubs.
Quite odd for a chairman to publicly do that, I guess they actually need some money today.8 -
Pelling1993 said:Not maybe the most sensible business decision but at least we would know that the extra £100-200k or whatever it is would massively help out a national league outfit in the current climate. I know we are not a charity but that sort of money is peanuts to TS especially with the Bonne & Grant money. if the gamble doesn't work its not exactly a costly one!
Which is fair enough to be honest... At least we're getting transparency over that1 -

He's young, quick, hasn't found his feet yet, but according to people who know better than us has the ability to break through. He'd supplement our other forwards and we wouldn't necessarily depend on him. I know we only have room for 1 or 2 more players, but given a choice between him and Sorba Thomas, surely the one with league experience is preferable for a promotion push? Or we sign both!
There will be a social media meltdown if he signs before the striker is announced.I’m talking about Smyth.18 -
I often find I write out a post, read it, think it's fine. I then click away into a new thread and then a thought comes back that I hadn't had whilst typing it out...
It happens a lot in the morning!1 -
Fun and games aplenty.0

I think the business we have done up to this point has been superb but I'm really struggling to get excited about Smyth if he is the striker, we need a goal scorer!7

The Boreham Wood statement goes on a bit and, as well as pushing is us to increase our bid and sending a message to the player and his agent, it is probably also designed to encourage offers from any of the other clubs referred to.
Hopefully a deal can be done, although perhaps the loan signing of the QPR winger means that it’s off.0 -
Sounds like a bit of a heads up from Boreham in that interview
of get your finger out Charlton, plenty of other clubs fishing
around, and would just be our luck should we miss out on what
seems to be a bit of a talent for the sake of an increase.
Fair play to them, they sound like a well run club0 - Sponsored links:

Mendonca In Asdas said:Does anyone know how much we offered BW for this winger fella?
No.
The most telling part of the statement:
"the Club can now publicly state, that Charlton have in fact made a bid but their kind offer falls a bit short of the Club’s valuation of the player, which they were made very aware of that before making their offer in writing."
That is not "messing Charlton about" but trying not to be mugged off like Charlton were with Gomez, and the double whammy of Walsh and Elliott to Luton.
If they are only a bit short then this really should get sorted.

Fair play to Boreham Wood. I hope we pay what they are asking for.10
-
Worth mentioning I think that if we haven't agreed a price with Boreham Wood and haven't started negotiations with the Sorba I find it hard to believe we'll get this done today.1
-
Hope we haven’t told him not to play and that it’s his agent. Dogshit behaviour.4

Rumour on Twitter that they want over £500,000.Could be nonsense but that’s ridiculous if true.5

Quite surprised by this one but Sheffield Wednesday have signed Jack Marriott on loan from Derby
I know I suggested him on the Striker thread but didnt even see him leaving Derby - Shame he's gone to the cheats0 -

Because of the amount of low scoring wingers and strikers around it would be better if we said goal scorers !
And a 15 to 18 goalscorer from now is what we need to be a top 6 contender.1 -
Surely we should come up with a deal with a bit up front, rest based on appearances, future sell on, if he's really that good, then they'll get what they are looking for?0
