Unused sub in 0-0 home draw.
Doesn't say much for him that they needed a goal and the manager still didn't bring him on.

  • Wouldn't surprise me if Forest try to bring in another striker before the window closes, pushing Taylor further down the pecking order. It seems like Hughton doesn't rate Taylor that highly.

Sounds like they're after Glenn Murray which makes sense with Houghton there
  • Some might think that Taylor will be a happy man regardless of his lack of game time at Forest because he is picking up a nice wedge but I think he’ll be deeply unhappy. He probably, because of his grandiose self ego, thought he’d go to Forest and be ‘the man’ and the fact that he isn’t will sting him. If he’d stayed with us he may have had a poorer bank balance but he’d still be adored which goes a long way for someone like Taylor. Money really doesn’t bring happiness in all cases.

Yeh, if he stayed he would have just been absolutely loved. He would have been a member of the Charlton family and we would have assumed he's a proud member.

When push came to shove...he didn't deserve it.

Actions speak louder then words and he showed who he really and truly was.

It made it easier for fans to connect the dots and put 2 an 2 together.

    Just a bit of a prat.... who....tweets a lot....of crap.

Whining and moaning...so up his own backside.

I do naturally kind of feel a tad sorry for people who are like that. We can all be a bit like that. There's a David Brent in all of us.

Really don't wish anything bad for Lyle as I kind of think he is actually in his own world.

End of the day though...we wanted to stay in the championship and he absolutely did not care a single bit.

Despite everything I still like Lyle Taylor. BUT he made a decision which while good for his bank balance, had all sorts of negative consequences for him, never mind the disastrous consequences for us.

As you say, he thrives on being "the man", he clearly LOVED being at Charlton, the right club for him both on the pitch and off it, where he was the big fish adored by the fans, plus able to develop his media "brand". You look at Akinfenwa, someone able to build a massive media profile (and presumably decent off field income) from lower league football

Taylor was given a life changing contract = a man who said he is not bothered by football and his driver (financial) has just been removed.

Taylor is another year older and in the twilight of his career.

Taylor, I think more than most players, needs the energy of fans, both supporting and jeering away fans to get him and his mind into a zone to play well.

Not a surprise given the above that he has not really performed for Forest in the same way he did for us.

He hurt me Telly... He hurt me!  😂 😂

That sentence is perfect from a literacy perspective, there is even a Dylan reference in there.

  • I have listened to the pod cast and Lyle speaks very highly of Bowyer and Charlton and is sad at the way he ended for all his faults I would still love to see him playing for us today!

Yes the pitch dried out quickly so we played Pompey at 1pm. We won 7-0, Taylor got a hat trick.

Glenn Murray has/is signing for Forest, wonder where that leaves Taylor? He can't get in the starting line up as it is, and Houghton knows Murray and what he can do!!

Here’s a dilemma. Would you take him back on loan?

The bloke turned his back on our club and was a huge factor in why we got relegated.

Any Charlton fan saying they still love him, or want him back at our club, should be embarrassed of themselves. So weird.
He’d be a lot better than our current strikers.

To put it like this, I had a girlfriend once who was an absolute freak in the bedroom who left me satisfied beyond my wildest dreams. However she had no sense of loyalty and eventually left me for a lad who drove a Sierra Cosworth. I had an Austin Metro at the time. Mrs AUN, whilst still very adept in her skills is not as bedroom orientated but so very loyal and devoted to the cause of our marriage and I adore her for it. If that girl from many moons ago came knocking on my door now I would tell her to f*** right off. That’s how we should treat Taylor. He had his chance and he messed it up.

It’s not a dilemma. An easy no.

So’s Ched Evans but I wouldn’t want that c**t playing for us either.

All I care about is winning. In a heartbeat. The best striker since Bent.
